JOB OBJECTIVES:
The Manager, Construction EHS will support Project Manager of several projects on travel basis or be assigned to a project site as project EHS manager to take responsibility in monitoring the Safety, Environment protection and Health of all construction activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Cooperate with the Manager Asia Pacific, Process & Construction Safety, Project QM

2.Cooperate with the Construction Manager, Project Manager of relevant projects and with Manager/ supervisor of Construction Companies

3.Support project teams (Project EHS Manager from Engineering Partner) to

- Prepare project EHS plan, review EHS plan and make sure that BASF requirements are taken into account

- Prepare EHS training material, review training material and make sure that BASF requirements are taken into account

- Perfom EHS training for project team members and construction companies

- Prepare for Construction EHS audit

- Report & investigate incidents

- Execute Job safety analysis (JSA) and risk assessments

4.Regularly perform EHS inspections of construction sites and prepare reports about findings, results

5.In case of project assignment as Construction Safety Manager the main tasks include:

- Prepare project EHS plan, review EHS plan and make sure that BASF requirements are taken into account

- Prepare EHS training material, review training material and make sure that BASF requirements are taken into account

- Perfom EHS training for project team members and construction companies

- Prepare for Construction EHS audit

- Execute Job safety analysis (JSA) and risk assessment or ensure that they are carried out.

- Prepare regular project EHS report

- Implement the Safety Management systems documented in EHS plan and actively promote via personal example and supervision.

- To verify all employees (inclusive of transferees) have undertaken all necessary Training.

- Identify and eliminate unsafe work practices.

- Ensure all Employee safety suggestions are logged and take appropriate action to correct any unsafe conditions.

- Participate in, and facilitate incident review and investigation and reporting procedures.

- Discourage employees from taking risks. Counsel and appropriately educate those who fail to consider the wellbeing of themselves and that of others around them.

- Ensure all employees receive instruction of their responsibilities for safe working methods.

- Ensure that work is planned and the work area organized so that work is executed through job start meetings.

- Make sure that suitable personal protective clothing and equipment is worn, and that personnel are instructed on its correct use. Carry out informal safety inspections and initiate actions to ensure rectification on a timely basis.

- Promote the reporting of all incidents (including non-injury) by employees. Compile incident investigation reports detailing actions to preclude a re-occurrence.

- Regularly organize project EHS committee meeting

REQUIREMENTS:

1. At least 5 years total work experiences, at least 3 years work experiences in construction safety supervision

2. Proficient knowledge of Chinese national occupational safety standards mandatory

3. Skilled in occupational safety of chemicial plants will be an advantage

4. Good command of English both in writing and speaking;

5. Team player, but working independently with focus on result and achievement;

6. Skilled and experience in relevant software/tools like MS Projects, MS Office

7. Strong communication skills and conflict-handling skills.
