LABOUR GRADE: Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

DEPARTMENT: Quality Assurance Department, Greater China

REPORTS TO: Quality Director, Greater China

LOCATION: Tianjin

BASIC FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the Quality director, Greater China, the Quality Assurance Engineer will provide support to both internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues to help meet business goals, analyze non-conformances, report and resolve root causes and issues, and participate in the review of corrective action reports.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

o Gather and analyze key metrics data for Greater China quality.

o Monitor and continuously improve the quality of product manufactured by John Crane and our suppliers.

o Develop improvement plans and guide actions to drive improvement in key metrics including cost of poor quality.

o Review and action customer complaints and enquiries.

o Lead corrective action process to ensure that identified causes are adequately addressed.

o Assist in new product qualifications for both product performance and manufacturability.

o Lead problem solving and root cause identification efforts.

o Support Supplier Qualification and issue resolution.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY:

· Education :

Degree or equivalent qualification in Quality or Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing preferred).

· Experience:

o Must have 3 years experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing setting.

o Experience in Auditing.

o Knowledgeable and hands on experience in the application of Lean and Six Sigma including the following tools:

Value Stream Mapping, Cpk/Ppk, GR&R, SPC, Control Plans, Sampling Plans, Kaizen, 5S, Statistical Analysis, SMED, 5 why’s, Root Cause analysis, 8D, VOC, QFD, Error Proofing, Robust Design, FMEA, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Pareto Analysis, etc.

· Key Competencies

o Must have solid understanding of ISO 9001 management system, and working knowledge of ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 management systems.

o Certification as a QMS Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor preferred.

o Possess expert knowledge in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies with hands on experience.
