职位描述

Key areas of accountability/responsibility

1. Set up an information portfolio for the customer groups based on analysis of their information needs. The information professional has a focal area to serve his/her customer being either scientific information or business information. The product solution portfolio comprises uniform tools e.g.:

?literature research for research purposes

?setting up newsletters/clippings for project/customer clusters

?compile tailor made alerts on specific topic

?Collect market information (scouting, company profiles).

2. Providing tailored information which matches the clients needs in the fields of business, science and/or technology by researching, analyzing and synthesizing information

3. Ensures that clients have the available tools or capabilities to have direct access to information and can make efficient use of this information (e.g. training, instruction, and guidance) in case of standard and/or recurring information needs.

4. Train customer and enhance information awareness & skills.

5. Maintain and apply in depth knowledge of the latest developments and state-of-the-art in information sources and tools in the relevant fields

6. Maintain appropriate knowledge level on DSM relevant business and scientific fields to be able to determine the real information needs and questions.

7. Give pro-active advice to the manager with respect to optimization of the solution portfolio and catering to the customers' information needs.

8. Network actively in external organizations of Information Professionals

9. Contributes to the search tool development and continuous optimization of existing search tools.

10. Actively take part in (research) projects as full member.

11. Act in line with SHE regulations and DSM Code of Business Conduct and core values

12. Product responsible role, in which he/she is responsible to have insight in the available sources/tools in a certain area. The Product responsible decides together with business representative in a cross functional team and sourcing as commercial lead which tool/source in a certain area applies to the needs of DSM.

13. Based upon experience have an overview of experts, partners and consultants in the specific market.




Complexity of the position

Content:

? A large scale of very diverse Information requests which need to be translated in terms of search method and necessary outcome (added value).

? Topics vary in scope, complexity, frequency and urgency.

? Large quantities of information need to be reduced to the right information fitting and facilitating the work of the customers

? Information is being appraised on behalf of the customer

? International and scattered customer base

The information professional needs to be able to select the information from diverse sources requiring up to date scientific and or business knowledge of their focal areas combined with up to date search skills.

Interaction:

? With a diverse and global client group, both in background as well as interest (from business manager to SHE expert)

? With suppliers, being the content owner (as representative of the business) in contract negotiations together with DSM Sourcing (defining

? With colleagues in the information field, participating in different networks.

For account manager role (additional role):

? Global customers with different needs both in the R&D as well as in the business field

? New position requiring capabilities to implement a structure, change management skills

? International customers

? Capable to interact, influence and contribute to change processes within organizations involved




Knowledge and educational level

A degree in a science or business discipline BSc, MSc, PhD or equivalent experience (e.g. R&D and/or other knowledge/scientific background)




Required level of experiences

? Excellent analytical/synthetical skills

? Good business knowledge to enable understanding of the development in the business and key areas of interests

? Networker, connecting to different representatives in the business of different back ground.

? Knowledge and proven interest in information management.

? Experience in complex search assignments

? Excellent verbal and written skills of English are necessary.

? Good communication and social skills

? Advisory skills on a consultant level within business and/or science
