Major Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot production issues impacting FTT and warranty, to determine corrective actions to part, assembly and machining processes and/or test equipment
Review engine and transmission quality indicators and evaluate potential test enhancements to address issues, reduce warranty, and improve customer NVH Satisfaction
Implement test station modifications as required for new models and corrective actions
Implement test sequence (software) updates for new models and corrective actions
Interface with Suppliers and Product Engineering on test related process questions or issues
Work with product engineering to determine impact to test methodology for new programs
Develop production processes aligned to standard Bill of Process strategies through system inquiry, simultaneous engineering, build, installation, and commissioning phases Responsible for test equipment procurement – Ford purchasing system CPARS Participate in Simultaneous Engineering with supplier and plant/staff personnel
Work with OEM's to ensure application of lessons learned and best practices for new programs
Run-off equipment per Ford Specifications at supplier and plant to validate capability and robustness including safety Interface with plant personnel with appropriate timing and installation documentation, to ensure efficient/timely installation and validation
Support appropriate Six Sigma projects
Provide technical assistance during launch of new programs Provide technical assistance to plant test engineers as required Coordinate and maintain common EOL, (End of Line), NVH processes
Ability to measure and analyze vibration data in Frequency, Order, and Time Domain Understand the principles of data acquisition of Acoustics and Structural noise
Understand the principles of model analysis and the ability to collect and analyze results
Mechanical and electrical aptitude to understand part function Mechanical and electrical aptitude to understand EOL Stand Function Ability to measure and analyze vehicle NVH data Aptitude to use statistics for analyzing and drawing conclusions from data Work with product engineering establishing NVH Engineering Specifications (ES) for test
Work with product engineering to determine EOL test methodology for new programs
Interface with vehicle operations EOL testing to ensure customer satisfaction
Lead effort to correlate Final Test vibration limits with Hemi-Anechoic Cell and with the Plant's Vehicle Evaluation Ratings (VER).
Assist with Design of Experiment (DOE) to correlate final test vibration limits with blue print specifications for transmission case and gears.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
3 years + relevant Automobile power train testing experience
Vibration/NVH analysis a plus
Assembly process knowledge/experience
Machine design knowledge/experience
