Position Purpose:
This is a new position in APA Region. Asia Pacific Region is seeing ever_increasing PT complexity and unprecedented growth. This current business climate has created a need for a Strategic Powertrain Business Planning Supervisor mirroring Vehicle Operations. The primary objective of this position is to ensure APA Powertrains are competitive in all Business Quality Metrics. The position will perform market comparisons, competitive analysis, objective setting, mappings, data integrity verifications, and alignment with vehicle and functional organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and evolve monthly PT Datapacks
- Establish, verify, and maintain all PT system mappings and FPV’s
- Establish and maintain PT Plant, Engine, and Transmission naming conventions and tracking codes
- Establish strategy for all PT Mfg Plant Objectives – 5 Year BP
- Negotiate at a technical level - targets balance to Function and Vehicles
- Interface w/ PT Quality Mgr, VFG Leads, PD Quality, PVT’s, Plant Quality, PD Design, and Vehicle Line Directors to ensure regional alignment to all Quality Business Metrics_reach consensus with Regional VP’s and Directors
- Establish ongoing strategy to measure, set targets, and track VO PPM performance – including REDCR’s
- Act as APA SPOC to coordinate and help resolve metrics and objective issues
- Act as regional Rep on global forums to realign CCC’s to VFG’s to drive 100% alignment and ownership to correct functional teams, all while ensuring correct granularity to drive the business
- Maintain regional Bingo Boards and Leadership reporting
- Prepare and Report BPR Decks for Leadership – Guide Regions Strategy to Improve
- Provide training – AWS, ECB, BSAQ, and Quality College Support
- Ensure PVT’s are binning ECB & EVB correctly – resolve ambiguity and stratification granularity
- Drive effectiveness of PRT & PCT reporting tools
- Ensure Glidepaths are accurate and GREEN w/ 15% overachieve to Objectives (R, CPU, TGW)
- Get top issues in front of correct functional leaders – drive results
- Lead BSAQ on going phases implement and training for APA PT
- Coordinate GQRS Predictions and Reports for PT – support WEB based survey launch
- Build up PT team capability to interpret / anticipate leadership and business requests
- Lead BIC/competitive study for target setting PT’s – internal and external data
- Ensure targets are aligned between BPR, PCT, CM, APQM, FQR, DQR, and Launch
- Capture and standardize annual PT business planning process to improve efficiency across APA and all functions/ plants
- Establish or Verify Launch Metrics – consistent with global standards for “M” & “P” Level Programs
- Provide Regional Warranty Analysis after each monthly cutoff – also looking for regional opportunity differences by CCC, VFG, Vehicle Line, and PT Commodities
- The candidate must possess a unique balance of Leadership, IT Prowess, and PT Functional knowledge to be successful in fulfilling these key responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree or above.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Powertrain related field – PVT, PTI, Engine or Transmission Design, Component Engineering, Mfg Engineering, Operations Mgmnt, or STA (overall broad knowledge preferred).
- 8 years’ experience is Quality Reporting Systems and Processes
- Engine function
- Transmission Function – Auto and Manual
- PT as installed – PCM, fuel delivery, cooling, etc.
- NVH, sensors, casting, heat treat, welding
- Quality Operating Systems
- 6-Sigma Problem Solving Methodology
- Measuring and Test Equipment
- AWS, BSAQ, ECV, EVB, Failure Discovery, FMEA, Control planning, SPC, PPAP, MSA, 8D, APQP, adept computer skills (Windows Office - excel)
- Very strong leadership skills interfaces with salary grades many times higher in every job situation. Ability to influence and reach consensus with large xfunctional groups with competing priorities. Always data and process driven.
