PRODUCTION MANAGER

About the Organisation:
This is a FORTUNE 500 fine chemical plant.

Location:
Ningbo, Zhejiang Province

Key Responsibilities:
? plan, lead, organize and control the delivery of the operations contribution to the plant objectives and overall performance in terms of HSE&S, service and quality, cost and human resources
? lead production team to improve continuously the quality, productivity, monitor the cost and ensure the overall HSE performance
? ensure realization of production planning within budget and market needs by considering quality, environmental, safety and maintenance issues
? optimal communication within production team from operator level to management level Make sure production direction and decision are clear communicated to all level and followed
? propose qualitative and quantitative measures for production processes, technical state of installations, HSE conditions and production manuals of the processes Report regularly production quality, quantity and technical state of production facility
? clear and complete QHSE reporting and documentation for shift teams
? coordinate with plant operation team and service unit QC, supervise any kinds of quality issues and follow the customer complaint and management Contribute to the final product quality assurance process to help maximize prime yield and margin whilst avoiding customer complaints
? lead and coordinate plant operation team to propose and perform optimizations/improvements concerning:
? coordinate with site HSE, set up and maintain the QHSE management system for plant, ensures that all activities employed are according local and AN QHSE regulations, and continuously improve the QHSE performance
? coordinate the carrying out corporate HSE requirements in production field Ensure all production people to enforce strictly safety and health rules and procedures and obey all PPE requirements
? manage performance of production group, coach and train personnel, develop an open climate, and stimulate and motivate employees Monitor, improve and optimize work efficiency of operators
? support to recruit staff skilled in plant operation and those capable of performing in an efficient team, establishing training plan, and provide the training for the staff
? develop people, by considering the employee’s competences and growth perspective

Key Requirements:
? the preferred candidate holds either a university or college degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent He/She should preferably have ten years of experience in a managerial position in a chemical manufacturing environment, preferably in a multinational context
? the preferred candidate should possess strong leadership skills and proven working knowledge regarding people management, QHSE issues, production organizations, and production planning
? he/she should be a stress resistant, proactive self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines, set priorities and use time effectively to accomplish tasks Furthermore strong work ethic, analytical skills, good organizational skills, and clear reporting skills are required
? good skills in working with spreadsheets, databases, word processing and presentation programs are required as well as ERP and MES knowledge
? excellent interpersonal skills, able to develop and maintain good working relationships and work productively with others in a team environment; have good leadership skills, and be a team player
? possess excellent verbal and written communication skill in both English and Chinese and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
