职位描述
The purpose of the Program Manager’s position is to manage a program (explanation: often consistent of many projects which fall under one program) steering project directors in terms of team management and development, give the overall direction for the program, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of a program ensuring consistency with DSM’s strategy, commitments and goals.
The Program manager is responsible for the smooth operation of all day-to-day activities carried out for his or her assigned program. He oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of an ongoing program including planning, organizing, leading, and controlling program activities.
All project management areas are basic practice for the Program Director, and it is to be expected of this position to excel in program management. Special focus for the Program Director on:
? Strong leadership in large and highly complex programs.
? Change management, programs often have organizational (HR) impact
Key areas of accountability/responsibility for project management
? Perform program management including all specifics which deviate from project management
? Manage all project directors in the program; team management and development, directly manage, motivate and coach project directors, members and assure the resource planning. Delegate all support activities to ensure a successful project
? Define the program/project brief, including a valid business case, and submit this to the project owner for approval.
? Start up or close projects within the program in order to achieve the program goals if needed.
? Manage the execution of the project plan in terms of money, time, quality, organization and information and ensure that the objectives, deliverables and milestones are met.
? Pro-actively ensure alignment between the related programs.
? Report the program progress versus the project plan to the project owner and review team on a regular basis
? Manage the program risks and inform the principal or steering committee timely in case project objectives, deliverables, milestones, budget, timing and/or quality incur risk an pro-actively propose mitigations.
? Organize project startup workshops (determined within DSM as Front End Loading) and is able to facilitate in these workshops in other projects.
? Manage external parties, sourcing, legal dependencies, delivering resources, consultancy or services.
? Ensure the board / program owners perform their role and escalate if issues to the program integrity or interest of DSM occur.
The Ideal
Master degree in business administration (or comparable level in acting and thinking)
Certified project management methodology (IPMA, PMP, Prince2)
Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management in the last 8 years
Minimum of 3 relevant programs managed
