Basic Function:

The Low Cost Sourcing Engineer is responsible for sourcing products, materials or services from Low Cost Countries (China, India, Czech, Brazil etc.) to decrease John Crane’s Total Cost of Ownership.

They will need to work with Global Category Managers globally to find, assess and help qualify sources that exceed John Crane’s quality requirements at substantially less landed cost than traditional sources.

This person will be based in Tianjin, China and will report to low cost sourcing manager.

Primary Duties:

· Send and follow up RFQs, Carry out value analysis to compare new costs to current landed costs to demonstrate cost savings potential.

· In conjunction with QA and Engineering review drawings and specifications to make sure that items are fully defined and that suppliers can fully understand what John Crane is trying to source

· Find and carry out preliminary assessments of suppliers that can provide quality products, materials or services to John Crane.

· As per category manger’s requirements and instructions to obtain samples from relevant suppliers and carry out preliminary testing in conjunction with engineering to gain confidence that the supplier is likely to meet John Crane’s requirements.

· Participate in quality audits of suppliers.

· Coordinate approval process for new supplier, samples, tool approvals, capability studies, shipment etc.

· Work with engineering and Quality Assurance in developing Low Cost suppliers to improve capabilities and value to John Crane

· Through team coordinate process for planning, ordering, stocking and shipping goods.

· Help analyze rejections and get to the root cause of problems to prevent reoccurrence.

Minimum Requirements For Entry:

· A four year college degree is required.

· The qualified candidate will have with a minimum of three years’ experience in sourcing. A solid technical background in working in a global company is a plus.

· Familiarity of business with API (American Petroleum Institute) is essential

· The Engineer should have good communication skills and be able to communicate complex issues clearly.

· A working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems along with experience of qualifying and auditing suppliers is essential.

· Must be fluent in English and able to travel inside and outside of China as necessary

· Must be adept with computers and have a strong working understanding of all Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.

国际采购工程师工作地点为天津，并且直接汇报给全球采购经理。

主要职责:

· 发出并跟踪询价，分析报价并比较当前交付成本和新成本，以证明新报价能够节省成本。

· 协调质量工程师和技术工程师，共同评审相关图纸和技术规范，确保所有技术条款在发出前被清晰定义，同时确保供应商完全理解约翰克兰的采购要求。

· 寻找并完成能为约翰克兰提供合格产品，材料或服务的供应商的初步评估。

· 按照全球类别采购经理的指示，从相应供应商处获取样品，与本地工程部联络以完成初步测试，在发送样品给约翰克兰各个工厂之前, 确信供应商能够达到约翰克兰的要求。

· 参与供应商的质量审核。

· 协调约翰克兰全球各工厂对新供应商及其样品，模具及能力分析，运输等方面的审批程序。

· 与技术工程师及质量工程师协作，不断发展低成本供应商，提升其能力，降低其成本，以满足约翰克兰持续发展的要求。

· 通过团队协作程序，策划，采购，准备相应库存，以交付合格产品给全球各个国家的约翰克兰工厂。

· 帮助分析并找出质量问题的根本原因，并防止问题的重复发生。

基本要求:

· 大学本科学历

· 三年以上采购相关工作经验. 有国际公司工作经验将会被优先考虑.

· 优先考虑具备和熟悉 美国石油协会相关知识的人选.

· 要求具备良好沟通技能并能够将复杂问题清晰表述的能力。.

· 了解ISO9000质量体系相关知识。

· 英语听说读写流利，并能适应在国内外经常出差。

· 熟练使用各种办公软件，如Microsoft Word, Excel、 PowerPoint and Outlook等
