职位描述

1Purpose of Role
The License Handler
·prepares, executes and controls activation of SW licenses and HW activation codes (part of SW Make process)
·prepares, executes and controls License Register content management activities
The preparation, execution and control shall be in accordance with objectives (e.g. contract, time and costs), valid laws, work instructions and Ericsson’s company policies.
The License Handler is supporting different business scenarios such as
·An order driven business scenario
·A SWUS (SW Upgrade Subscription) driven business scenario
·A monitoring driven business scenario
The focus of this role description is linked to the order driven business scenario.


2Accountability
The License Handler should seek to proactively advise applicable persons within Customer Units, Engagement Practices and Operations how to best configure/order/delivery licenses and HW activation codes.
The accountability and scope for the License Handler covers activation of SW licenses and HW activation codes in ELIS[1] as well as local execution of license register content management as described below.
2.1Activation of SW Licenses and HW Activation codes in ELIS
2.1.1Activation preparation (new sales)
·Define time plan for activation
·Secure access to Fingerprint information
·Secure access to required configuration information, e.g. per site
2.1.2Activation preparation (expansions and upgrades)

·Select HW resource(s)
·Secure access to required configuration information, e.g. per site
2.1.3Activation (new sales)
·Select LAC or, when applicable, choose an activation method in which the system selects the LAC
·Specify HW resource name
·Select License Key distribution method (when available and applicable), Automatic License Distribution or via ELIS
·Monitor License Key availability, in particular for products/solutions with a lead-time for license key generation
·Distribute to or notify applicable stakeholders that the License Keys and/or HW Activation Codes are available
2.1.4Activation (expansions and upgrades)
·Select LAC or, when applicable, choose an activation method in which the system selects the LAC
·Select License Key distribution method (when available and applicable), Automatic License Distribution or via ELIS
·Monitor License Key availability, in particular for products/solutions with a lead-time for license key generation
·Distribute to or notify applicable stakeholders that the License Keys and/or HW Activation Codes are available
2.2License register content management – local execution
The License Handler executes different tasks in the license register content management area, see below. The execution should be made in cooperation and agreement with the Region License Manager, which is the overall driver of License register content management in the Region.
·Change fingerprint in ELIS before re-generating a license key for products with automatic license key generation. The need to re-generate a license key can be due to a HW failure. In order to be able to change fingerprint in ELIS the user needs to have a specific type of access
·Perform Return/Move of licenses for products/solutions allowing this activity to be performed in the Region or request from SW Supply Operations (back-office support) to perform the Return/Move
·Monitoring of Entitlement usage – secure that the “stock” of Entitlement’s is valid and sufficient
Clean-up of the license register, e.g. removal of obsolete HW Resources, naming/renaming of HW Resources, check none-activated LACs and license corrections
·Participating in audit activities, e.g. delta analysis of content of license register vs. content in the Customer Network. The purpose of the audit activity can differ; examples are clean-up to secure a smooth SW&HW Activation Management handling or identify business opportunities. In most cases audit activities are initiated by others parties, e.g. Engagement Practices or Product Owners
2.3Scope
The License Handler scope should be mapped and specified in the Customer Unit/Account and Product/Solution dimensions.

·Distribute license key file and functional specification in cases where Ericsson is not responsible for license key installation/integration (supply delivery)

Customer Solution Responsible (Solution Manager)
·Access to timely and correct configuration information needed to perform the activation activity
Customer Project Manager / Contract Execution Management
·Access to and agree time plan for the activation activity
·Report progress and deviations of the activation activity
·Distribute license key file and functional specification (could also be directly to the service engineer)
Market Logistics Management (Order Desk)
·Correlation of orders, e.g. HW and SW and usage of Entitlement text fields in SAP
Region License Manager
·First-line support within the Region
SW Supply Operations
·Back-office support
4Qualifications and experience
·Bachelor degree in a relevant area
·English in written and spoken. Other languages depending on external interfaces and location
·Experience from working in a service, project management environment close to the end customers is preferred
4.1Professional competence, knowledge and skills
·Good knowledge and skills
·ELIS and Ericsson Business Warehouse
·Product/Solution, e.g. the license logic and dependencies for the in scope products/solutions, product packaging principles (commercial view vs. supply view), license management logic (hard lock, soft lock, 3PP keys)
·SW Make process
·Basic knowledge and skills
·Ericsson Business Processes and in particular the processes related to SW handling end-to-end, e.g. Configuration in ECP/Verdi (Sales Process), Ordering of SW, Licenses and HW Activation codes (Deliver Process) and Key Installation (Service Delivery Process)

·Other tools, i.e. TRACY (to access fingerprint information for new sales) and Remote Support Gateway (used for Automatic License Distribution)
·Customer network awareness, e.g. release levels, server types and planned changes

In addition to the ELIS roles listed above a ChannelUserReadRole is available. This ELIS role is mainly intended for users that should access the Functional Specification/License Key File, e.g. within Service Delivery and users that should view the content of the license register, e.g. Customer Units and Engagement Practices.
