Purpose of the position
Driving the business development with Japanese multi-national companies (MNCs)
Develop ‘Japanese Market’ strategy. Lead the profitable development of targeted customers through positioning Panalpina as a strategic business partner.
Implementing ‘Japanese Market’ strategy across Panalpina in ensuring sustained growth with the customers.
Create competitive advantage for the customers in their business.
Key Tasks
Key account management for strategic Japanese MNC customers
Liaison with internal sales force/related departments / external offices / other key stakeholders to implement and execute a business development plan
Identify potential business development opportunities in Japanese MNC sector
Work closely with Panalpina Japan and Japanese overseas development managers in overseas to get support at head office and subsidiaries of Japanese MNCs
Facilitate smooth cross-functional project management
Provide assistance in exploring and developing solutions to enhance the workflow and procedure efficiency among the internal stakeholders
Seek to position Panalpina as strategic partner of targeted customers, through proposing business solutions that add value to the customers’ business and enhance its performance and reputation.
Identify and develop effective relationship with key contacts within targeted customer organizations, to ensure maximum leverage for Panalpina’s interests.
Build customer confidence in Panalpina’s ability to respond to their current anticipated needs, by developing in-depth understanding of customer’s problems and influencing Panalpina’s strategy accordingly.
Network at top and senior level with key decision makers and influencers. Negotiations at top level with customer decision makers.
Develop and ensure implementation of ‘Japanese Market’ strategy and provide direction to teams across Panalpina building a strong sense of commitment and energy to ensure the objectives of the ‘Japanese Market’ programme are met
To lead and manage customers teams ensuring there is a common understanding of service expectations and solutions both with the customers and Panalpina.
Skills & Competencies

? High communication skill
? Creative and able to generate ideas
? Target and result focus
? Positive aggressiveness for sales approach
Educational background / Work experience
? University degree (Preferable)
? Minimum 5 years work experience in the logistics & shipping industry (Preferable)
? Fluent in written and spoken Japanese and English. Speaking local language is an advantage.
Language skills
? Fluent in Japanese and English and preferably other languages
