Purpose of the position
Responsible for the management of legal affairs within Asia Pacific.

Provide professional and client-focused legal advice and guidance consistent with a Solicitor-Client relationship.

Carry out dedicated legal assignments within the Legal Department.


Key Tasks
· Serve as primary contact for all legal matters and act as legal resource for the stakeholders within the assigned field of responsibility; provide advise and opinions on legal issues and recommend the appropriate legal response or action, which best serves to protect the interest of the company;

· Review, draft and negotiate legal documents, in particular commercial agreements;

· Provide legal advice on and manage dedicated major claims matters and litigation; liaise and coordinate in that context with insurance management and External Counsel;

· Assess and coordinate any regulatory matters and keep abreast of any related developments in the assigned field of responsibility;

· Support the implementation and monitor adherence to dedicated corporate initiatives and processes, such as Compliance, Signing Powers, Contract Review etc;

· In agreement with the Corporate Legal Counsel, APAC, coordinate and monitor dedicated legal matters, in particular:
- M&A transactions
- Strategic and operational alliances (Cooperation Agreements, Joint Ventures)
- Establishment of subsidiaries, branch offices, representation offices etc.

· Manage the legal function and supervise In-House Legal Counsels within the assigned field of responsibility;

· Coordinate and supervise External Counsels;

· Organize and provide training for dedicated legal topics concerning the field of responsibility;

· Provide regular reports on main personal activities to functional (professional) superior.

Educational background / Work experience
· Law degree; admission to the Bar preferred

· 3 or more years of professional legal experience in a corporate or law firm environment


Language skills
· Excellent written and oral command of English and Mandarin


Computer Literacy
· MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint
