IT Manager based at Pudong site, Shanghai


OBJECTIVES:


The Pudong IT Manager reports to the IT Manager, Greater China and is in charge of the overall IT projects, operations and services in Pudong site which consists of functional units, sales and marketing from the business units, as well as the researchers and developers in the technical teams.

MAIN TASKS:


Manage Team Performance
1)Manage IT Coordinator(s) in Pudong site, ensuring effective utilisation of resources in the IT operations and services.
2)Be accountable for the team's performance by defining and monitoring performance targets.
3)Foster an environment of continued development through coaching and performance management.


Manage & Monitor Service Level
1)Monitor and ensure the service levels provided by the Local IM team and the expectations of the business are aligned. Communicate the expected level and scope of services to the IT Coordinators and the Business Experts.
2)Manange customer complaints and work closely with the team in resolving them.


Maintain & Operate Application & Infrastructure
1)Conduct hardware and software evaluations on-site and identify where upgrade or modification is needed.
2)Keep track of warranties and service agreements and renew or extend when required.
3)Assist BASC with maintenance tasks such as server back-up processing, start-up, shutdown and hardware configuration changes.
4)Maintain an accurate inventory of computer hardware and software of the respective sites.



Manage Quality & Compliance
1)Coordinate the local IT requirements in line with global / regional policy.
2)Ensure that computing, networking and security standards are adopted, implemented and maintained appropriately by the local company.
3)Ensure that IT security guidelines are adhered.


Manage Service Change
1)Support users in defining and documenting requirements for Change Requests.
2)Coordinate with BASC, AS/I for the clarification and evaluation of Change Requests if required.
3)Monitor and track progress of Change Requests.
4)Ensure processes are in place for communication of changes. Communicate change to all affected team members and business users to prevent confusion and negative business performance after the change.



Manage Projects
1)Support IT Manager to oversee the development to the delivery of projects, ensure they are on time, within budget and in scope, and meet the guiding principles and objectives.
2)Support the realisation of the IT infrastructure project, ensure project is on time, within budget and in scope, and meets the guiding principles and objectives.


IT Security Planning and Gatekeeping
1)To manage IT Risk Management processes in Pudong, in line with global / regional IS Security guidelines and reporting requirements.
2)To assesses company-wide applications and infrastructure for compliance with information security policies.
3)To ensure the software portfolio is up-to-date by developing an integrated version plan that includes timeline for upgrade and obsolescence.


REQUIREMENTS:

Education:
- Bachelor or above, majoring in the area of Information Management, Computer Science or Information Technology


Working Experience:
-At least 5 to 8 years of experience in IT operations or computer & network administrator
-Work experiences in a multi-national company is required
-Team management experience is required


Technical & Professional Knowledge:
In-depth Knowledge of :
- Project management
- Multi-task management skills
- IT Network technology and IT Infrastructure environment
- Human relations and communications skills are important to:
- Develop and establish co-operation with users at all levels in Greater China
- Work as a team within the BASF IS Community
- Proficient command of spoken and written English skills mandatory
