Analytics Systems Administrator

Position Summary:

This individual will be responsible for the set up, management and support of the Merkle ‘s analytic environments that are part of the overall marketing technology solutions for Merkle clients. The analytic environments are multi-application (SAS and R) and multi-component configurations that require interactions with MS SQL Server data structures and modules. The candidates should be skilled in both Windows and Linux environments and will be responsible for user administration, issue troubleshooting, capacity management and monitoring multiple analytic environments.

Position Responsibilities:

· Creating and administering users, groups, roles, security schemes and security profiles (OS and Application)

· Creating and administering libraries including workspace(s).

· Configuring and managing database connectivity with ODBC and JDBC.

· Monitor analytics servers, processes, jobs and backups.

· Serve as the primary End User point of contact for any Analytic Tool support cases.

· Assist in the design and implementation of analytic solutions, create and maintain security, and perform software installations, configurations, monitoring, data migrations, upgrades, and other environmental tasks.

· Serve as the primary End User point of contact for any SAS Analytic Tools support cases

· Interact with users, operations teams, and SAS Support utilizing strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical topics to management and non-technical audiences, as well as interface with the customer on a daily basis.

· Prepare documentation of new and/or existing processes, user guides, and procedural documentation as necessary.

· Provide on-call support for production problem resolution.

· Recommend system improvements and develop plans to maintain and improve solutions.

Position Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree

· 3-5 years of experience in product implementation and administration of analytic applications and solutions to include but not limited to SAS and R analytic suites.

· Demonstrate an above average knowledge of Linux and Windows operation systems.

· Communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

· Possess superior telephone etiquette and the ability to deal effectively with end users, peers, and management even under extremely stressful conditions.

· Possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret helpdesk tickets and emails.

· Possess the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.

· Relate in a positive professional manner with end users and coworkers.

· Make decisions and judgments based on standard procedures.

· Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize several projects and tasks at one time.

· Demonstrate the ability to determine when to escalate issues based on SLA or severity level.

· Demonstrate the ability to learn new skills techniques and responsibilities.
