Part 1. Describe the Position

Summary:

Provides engineering and engineering support as an individual contributor to Flow Control’s Engineering business unit under technical direction. This position requires a broad general knowledge of engineering principles, theories and techniques.

the Manufacturing Engineer responsibilities include providing technical support to the manufacturing team, creating, maintaining and organizing documentation required for product manufacturing, maintenance and/or replacement of production tooling, proper functioning of assembly and test fixtures, validation of alternate components and/or suppliers, supporting the implementation of cost reduction initiatives, reviewing new product designs for manufacturability, and supporting the introduction of new products. Uses frequent application of engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques. Work may encompass a wide range of sophisticated (cross-discipline) engineering, manufacturing, quality and application problem resolutions. Must conduct work in a safe and careful manner, and maintain a clean and organized work area. Must be able to work well in a team environment.

1. Provides investigation, analysis and solving of technical problems encountered by engineering services, quality control, marketing, procurement and manufacturing departments.

2. Provides engineering support to reduce product and manufacturing costs.

3. Creates, maintains and organizes documentation required for product manufacturing, including bills of materials and engineering drawings.

4. Preparation of ECR/ECN package based upon sustaining changes.

5. Maintenance/replacement of production tooling.

6. Proper functioning of assembly and test fixtures, coordinating tooling maintenance.

7. Validation of alternate components, manufacturing processes and/or suppliers.

8. Review new product designs for manufacturability.

9. Supporting the introduction of new products.

10. Providing input to the design of assembly and test fixtures.

11. Participates in the development of the assembly process (sequence of assembly, test and inspection points), assembly/test procedures and visual instructions.

12. Participates in Material Review Board meetings and determine use of non-conforming parts.

13. Uses personal computer for engineering calculations, CAD designs, drawing (Pro-Engineer-Wildfire II- Pro-Intralink, Windchill) and MS Office products.

Prepares and provides technical data to other engineering sections for contractors and vendors for utilization in support activities.

14. Performs special assignments as requested.

A) Minimum professional and educational background desired (include years of experience).

1. Must have a broad general knowledge of technical competencies of engineering standards, principles and theories to complete engineering tasks assigned.

2. Ability to solve complex manufacturing and quality problems quickly.

3. Strong drafting and design skills required.

4. Working knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, and Pro-E.

5. Working knowledge of Basic Electrical, Mechanical, and Hydraulic Principles.

6. Strong electro-mechanical consumer product manufacturing background required.

7. Must have excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with internal / External customers

8. Must have a general understanding of basic business competencies, products and business unit operations, as well as area reporting structures.

9. Requires B.S. degree, preferably in Engineering, Manufacturing or in a technical area of science and research.

10. Minimum experience required: 3 year

11. Good at English of writing and speaking.
