Purpose of the position

Serve as a management role to lead Ocean Freight department to ensure excellent customer service, high accuracy of data entry, high productivity and operational excellence. This will lead to customer satisfaction


Key Tasks
1 In charge of the whole BU Ocean Freight department
2 Guide, educate and motivate the staff supervised
3 Follow instructions and implement policies from Management
4 Negotiate rates with agents & carriers
5 Follow up COD outstanding
6 Agencies' performance management and KPI trace.
7 Awareness of International rates levels, and Industry changes
8 Set up Standard Operational Process with Agency, Internal Station/Function if applicable
9 Design staffing training course and implement training
10 Appraise subordinate on regular basis
11 Develop staff to increase bench strength
12 Manage and control agency’s' performance.
13 Coordinate and support inter-department/function
14 Back up for Ocean Freight Manager if necessary

Decision Making Authority
1 Disciplinary responsibility of Export / Import Customer Service and Document Processing Operation groups.
2 Exception handling ONLY after consulting with Head of Ocean Freight - CTU/CKG BU.

Functional knowledge
1 Excellent and thorough knowledge of Ocean Export and Import.
2 Operational know-how (Document Processing & customer service)
3 Excellent knowledge and understanding-Document Process Functionality
4 Understanding of PA (strategy and products)
5 Comprehensive understanding of PA systems functionality.
6 Competency in all aspects of business administration.

Educational background / Work experience

1 Industry experience ( at least 8 years)
2 Management experience (minimum 3 years)

Language skills

Language skills: Fluent in English and knowledge of local language will be an advantage.

Proficient in basic IT Tools.
