The Wheatstone LNG Project is a multi-train Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and domestic gas (Dom Gas) plant near Onslow, Australia on the Pilbara Coast. Bechtel is honored to participate in the engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of this LNG plant.

To build the Wheatstone plant, Bechtel will be utilizing Module Fabrication Yards in Tanggu, China and Lumut, Malaysia. Over the course of the project, more than 100 modules will be fabricated at these yards and shipped to the Pilbara Coast for final installation.

Role Overview
Coordinate activities between Project Structural Engineering in Houston, the Site in Onslow, and the Fabrication team in Tanguu, China.

Provide day-to-day guidance to ensure Project requirements are incorporated. Work closely with subcontractors to ensure that vendor prints are correct and complete prior to submittal to Project Office in Houston. This will require thorough understanding of the scope and project requirements. An ability to review and understand every type of Structural drawing produced is essential.
? Review/Approve steel detail fabrication drawings and Tekla detailing model
? Respond to RFIs
? Assist in review of Work Packages
? Assist field construction engineers as required (check-out of fabrication & installation, ITPs, quality, etc.)
? Review of final documentation
? Interface with the subcontractor (Tekla model, SP3D model, drawing interpretation, document control, etc.)
? Home office interface, DCNs, review of redlined as-builts

Basic Qualifications
? Degree qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
? Knowledge of engineering and construction methods and processes customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience
? Solid Structural experience
? Displays effective communications skills crucial to motivating team members and presenting plans in a clear and concise manner
? Strong supervision experience including the ability to lead and manage change is preferred
? Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications
? Strong experience of liaising with and coordinating contractors
? Excellent problem solving ability

Role Overview
Plans and conducts independent work within a global business unit requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devises new approaches to solving problems.

Other Remarks/Qualifications:
Must be willing and able to communicate English and Chinese.
Must accept flexible working schedule (60 hours).
Must relocate/reside in Tanggu or TEDA area for project transportation.
