Position: Information Services Administration Officer, Library Services (Fixed-term)

Contract Status: Full-time, fixed-term for 6 months
Qualifications:
Essential: Diploma in Library or Information Science, Computer Science or IT; Good IT skills (confident with Microsoft Office applications, email and the web); Positive approach to customer care; Excellent communication skills at all levels; Effective time management and organizational skills; Ability to work well under pressure; Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team; Commitment to customer service; Flexible approach to work; Ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail; Ability to gain new skills quickly; Excellent level of English communication skills, especially verbal; Relevant customer service working experience.
Desirable: IT troubleshooting skills; Good knowledge of basic reference sources and techniques; Good knowledge of electronic journals and bibliographic databases; Use of Aleph500 library management system or comparable system; Experience of supporting high demand frontline equipment; Experience of supervising or training staff; Experience of supporting use of Microsoft Office applications, email and web; Experience working in an academic environment; Capable of quickly assimilating new skills and knowledge.
Salary & Benefits: RMB82,000 per annum (pro rata for contract less than 12 months) before all deductions.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize Information Services (“IS” thereafter) event, activities, conferences, senior staff meetings and other administrative items;
- Provide new staff with IS welcome introduction and assist them to get professional support and services;
- Manage ID card being unique ID card of the university, collaborate and communicate with Nottingham UK and LAC for details;
- Liaise between IS of UNNC and Nottingham UK and Malaysia;
- Manage IS archive, collaborate with university archive office to submit IS archive annually as requested;
- Understand how IS interacts with other University stakeholders e.g. Academic Administration, LAC, Estates and Facilities, know the key contacts across IS and the University, and know when and how to refer to them;
- Actively demonstrate a commitment to excellent and continually improving customer service;
- Be responsible for library shift management (emergency cover, etc.);
- Be the IS health and safety officer;
- Be responsible for MOE reporting, book exhibition management, textbook delivery management;
- Provide IS support for visitors to UNNC;
- Collate of IS standards metrics;
- Any other duties appropriate to the role and level, as directed by the Head of Information Services (UNNC).
