GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Implementation and continual improvement of the phase gate review process for customer application projects, development projects, and other types of internal projects to ensure Sealing Systems delivers its projects and programs in accordance with well-defined goals (performance, timing, and cost). For customer specific application projects, this person will directly manage China programs, multi-product programs, and/or module projects/programs. The Senior Program Manager may also oversee a portfolio of projects based on product line

TECHNICAL:
? Promote a disciplined approach to project management using SSG’s phase gated review process throughout the organization
? Work to continually improve the SSG gate review process
? Personally manage large-scale programs as needed
? Oversee the portfolio of product line projects assigned to him/her (if applicable)
? Coordinate or conduct Project Gate Reviews, and provide “fresh eyes” input to all Gate Reviews in assigned product line
? Manage resources for projects he/she personally manages
? Utilization and advancement of ProjectLink as a project management system
? Provide first line of support for project management system users
? Monitor the performance of project teams through the use of agreed upon metrics
? Escalate visibility of at-risk projects/programs
? Facilitate the annual expense and capital budget planning process

COMMERCIAL:
? Provide regular summary of project portfolio status
? Work directly with customers and suppliers as needed on specific programs
? Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to create team accountability for projects

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

? BS engineering, PMI Certification or equivalent experience.
? Knowledge and experience in project management methodologies.
? Ability to plan and manage complex projects crossing over many departmental lines.
? Good problem solving skills with working knowledge of FM-Tips.
? Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean business processes.
? Effective communication skills, written and oral, to all levels of the organization (within F-M, customers, and suppliers).
? Working knowledge of computers and software, with the capability to thoroughly learn new applications.
? Thorough knowledge of MS project and Projectlink.
? Ability to train others in business processes and systems.
? Attention to detail.
? Goal oriented and results based thinking.
? Excel in a team oriented environment.
