职位描述

JOB PURPOSE:
Technical Solutions Managers, (TSMs), provide the Applications and Design Solutions to Future’s customer base, utilising their own design experience and their product knowledge gained during training sessions held by Manufacturers for which Future are franchised.


This is achieved through adopting a ‘Systems Solution’ approach when promoting products and solutions to Future’s customers. This should always be carried out with the goal of maximising the offerings from Future’s line-card.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:


The TSM teams are organised where possible into focus groups. The three focus groups are: 1) Power & Linear products, 2) Micro controllers & Interface ICs, and 3) High-End & Telecomm products.


The TSMs have class responsibility for one of the following groups:


1) Power & Linear: Classes: 6, 7, 9, 19, 28, 51, 54,
55, 5B, 5C, 6L, M2, M3.
2) Low-End Micros & Interface: Classes: 12, 1M, 1S, 24, 41, M4.
3) Hi-End Processors & DSPs: Classes: 3, 12, 1H, 1S, 21, 24,
45, M1, M4, M6
These groupings allow the TSMs to specialise on a product area, whilst still working as part of an overall team.


By specialising, the TSMs are able to combine their design experience with the knowledge gained through training, enabling them to add value to our customer’s design process.


The TSMs interface directly with all Future’s customers and all levels of staff and Management within Future.


JOB CONTENT (PRIMARY & SECONDARY FUNCTIONS):


It is the responsibility of the TSMs to carry out the following:




Primary Functions


1. Represent Future’s interest at all technical levels and offer a level of support required by Future’s customers to ensure that Future’s customers clearly identify Future with the projects undertaken, thus increasing the probability of Future winning the identified opportunity.


2. TSMs are required to work together with Future’s Sales, Product Marketing Department and Suppliers, to establish which products are best suited to Future’s customer base and also which target markets to address. Having identified such products and markets, the TSMs are to promote by way of application examples, demonstration and or design in-put the identified products to Future’s customers.


3. Maintain accurate customer information on the Technical database, allowing all opportunities to be tracked to a successful conclusion.


4. Perform associative selling by designing in as many devices as possible for the particular design; participate in 10x10 sessions with other TSMs to fill in the BOM list.


Secondary Functions


5. Assist in the maintenance of manufacturer’s design registration schemes, thus helping to secure Future’s commercial position within its customer base and ensuring eligibility for any design incentive bonuses.


6. Train Future’s sales force and product marketing to provide technical product & application knowledge.


CREDENTIALS:
QUALIFICATIONS
3 Minimum requirements: Bachelor of Science, Electronic Engineering.


3 Possesses in-depth knowledge and technical competency with devices in the specific group of responsibility (Power & Linear, Low-End Micro & Interface, High-End Processors & DSPs).
EXPERIENCES


3 Proficient with the current tools used in today’s design environments. I.e. VHDL/View logic for the Programmable Logic specialist, C/C++ for the High-End and Micro Controller Engineers.


3 5 year R&D experence on MCU, ARM Cotex M is prefered.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes)


3 Possesses strong Communication and Presentation Skills, including the ability to present information and ideas in a confident fashion to the customer’s engineers and technical managers.


3 Displays good Commercial Awareness and Understanding of the business impact on how designs affect customers' profitability.


3 Able to commit to response times, i.e. having a sense of urgency


3 Proficient in allocating own resources


3 Able to prepare budgetary proposals and quotations


3 Able to select and specify devices for designs


3 Able to make decisions on how to optimize limited company resources. Example, deciding which customers to lend evaluation tools and demonstration equipment.


3 Willing to escalate issues when they are beyond the TSM’s area of influence, both internally and externally.


KEY CHALLENGES (CURRENT & FUTURE):


1. The TSM is the key to developing long term stable business opportunities both within our existing customer base as well as new accounts and market sectors. The cycle time of engineering projects is typically six to eighteen months. As a result, the challenge for the TSM is not to lose focus on long term business objectives while managing short term goals.


2. To stay up-to-date with the latest products and technologies, while maximizing selling time.


3. To continuously add value to our customers, the TSM must know something our customers don’t. Therefore the TSM require a strong commitment in putting in the necessary time and energy for training and upgrades.


4. As a nominal measurement, each TSM may have over 100 accounts to cover. Therefore, a strong sense of urgency, effective time management, and efficient resource allocation to opportunities are critical attributes necessary to succeed.
