Description
Product Development Unit WCDMA & Multi Standard RAN is responsible for development, release and maintenance of WCDMA Networks. The PDU are also responsible for Multi-standard RAN for Radio Networks. Ericsson Nanjing are a major partner within this unit working in all areas of development especially RBS development and Continuous Integration development.
Agile development is our chosen way of working. PDU WCDMA RA C&C OPO & Program Office is responsible for handling the product feature implementation and release based on Agile way of working. OPO (Operative Product Owner) in close cooperate with APO (Area Product Owner) who is from product line, to get features as input for XFT (Cross Function Team). OPO will also work close with Scrum Master and XFT to do sprint plan. And also accept the delivery from XFT.
Responsibility
Participate in feature analysis and reviews to build knowledge and comment on content
Providing vision and boundaries (time, cost, requirements) for the Team
Dimension the number of teams for a specific item
Clarifying requirements and priorities and coordinate team external dependencies
Responsible for Prioritizes and sequences together with the teams - each user story must be ordered by relative importance.
Assists with the elaboration of Epics, Themes and Features into user stories that are granular enough to be achieved in a single sprint. User Stories are elaborated at the last responsible moment and it is the OPO responsibility to be there during the Sprint Planning meeting to help the teams to understand exactly what is required.
Conveys the Vision and Goals at the beginning of every Sprint. The OPO must continuously remind the Team of the Sprint and Release goals. This helps to keep the team on track and serves as an over-arching yardstick for the team to measure their activity and progress against.
Represents the Area PO who is product manager. The OPO must continuously engage the Area PO/stakeholders to ensure the Team is building the right product and therefore delivering the ROI expected of it. The OPO has the opportunity to steer the team in a different direction at the end of every Sprint, so he/she must be ready to do just that if necessary.
Participates in the daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives to gain insight to the progress
Inspects the product progress at the end of every Sprint and has authority to accept or reject work done. Work that is either not complete or un-done needs to be re-prioritized or sequenced.
Can change the course of the project at the end of every Sprint. The Product Owner is in complete control and can steer the team in a completely different direction at Sprint boundaries.
Communicates status externally. The product owner is the voice of the Team to the outside world. Report XFT progress and status in OSG meeting.
Terminates a Sprint if it is determined that a drastic change in direction is required.
Qualifications
A university degree or equivalent.
At least 3 years of RD project management experience.
Strong technical background in WCDMA RBS software.
Strong project management competence and excellent communication skills
Proactive, self-motivated and able to work under pressure
Interest and experience in agile WoW
Understanding the need to interact with program/product line to solve problems together
Excellent skills in written and spoken English.
Solid experience within telecommunication.
