Description
1 Scope
The engineer shall design and develop products in teams and collaboration
with local and Swedish based organizations in form of Product Development
Unit (PDU).
The work shall be carried out as activities or projects.
The scope includes design activities related to products for the compnay is
defined responsible and per the defined responsibility level.
2 Interfaces
Internal Ericsson:
Region China and North East Asia (RCNA)
Product Development Unit
Internal company functions (CLC)
External Ericsson:
EMS/Partners, local and overseas suppliers
3 Roles/Responsibilities
The Design Engineer is responsible to carry out all tasks necessary in the
design and development work for products according to pre-defined roles and
authorities.
The design engineer shall communicate directly with product development
unit within Ericsson and the related department/engineer for design matters.
The engineer is responsible in carrying out his/her work in accordance with
Ericsson PLCM process.
The engineer has the responsibility to communicate any findings and changes
to Design responsible function within Ericsson for the actual product
developed (or to be developed) as well as his/her line manager.
The engineer has the responsibility to learn, or ask for training
4 Reporting
The Design Engineer reports to the Department Manager of TD Department.
5 Authorities
Has the authority to design products in accordance with defined requirements.
Has the authority to enter information in related Ericsson Product systems as
per defined access.
Has the authority to communicate with suppliers regarding the design and
technical requirements of products for Ericsson.
6 Processes, models and tools
The Design Engineer is (or can be) involved in the following processes:
Product Life Cycle Management (PLCM) process
New part introduction (NPI) process
Marketing & Sales Process
Sourcing Process

Qualifications
University degree such as Master or Bachelor of Science degree in the area
of mechanical design
Bi-lingual, English and Chinese, both verbally and written
Experience in Mechanical Design
Experience in 3D Computer Aided design (CAD)
Team Player with personal integrity
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to drive his/her own work and take initiatives
