Lead and manage the facility organization to achieve all operational objectives and site functions to accomplish performance targets in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality, Service, Cost Working Capital, Capital Spending and Employee Development. Develop the culture of continuous improvement in all aspects of the site operation, and ensure that proper controls and work practices are in place to deliver high-quality, low-variation products and high quality service to our customers. Develop, communicate and implement Best-Known-Methods (BKM) at the local facility. Work alongside regional and global Technology, Sales and Technical Service personnel to ensure that the Voice of Customer is internalized at the facility.


Primary Responsibilities:
? Ensure the safe and environmentally-responsible operation of the facility, complying with all local, provincial and federal regulations. Develop an 'Incident Free' culture throughout the facility.
? Lead a quality culture that focuses on variation reduction and continuous improvement via a disciplined approach to robust Quality Management System processes and procedures.
? Manage supply chain resources to meet service level needs of customers while optimizing working capital (inventories and minimizing costs).
? Continuously improve production and facility processes to improve flexibility and reduce costs.
? Determine process improvement needs and manage capital spending to maximize returns in investments and maintain the plant in good working order.
? Develop existing employees and recruit new talent to meet current and future business needs
? Ensure that the ERP system is effectively utilized
? Ensure compliance with all Ethics, Business Controls, Records Retention, Delegation of Authority policies
? Support relationships with local universities and professional organizations
? Manage within the functional regional and business matrices to ensure that all staff and functional support requirements are met.
? Support fast, robust new product commercialization efforts at the facility to support the business strategies
? Manage all cost elements under the direct control of site functions and continuously improve productivity
? Share Best Known Methods and participate in Best of Best manufacturing forums
? Communicate plant performance results as required
? Lead/support special projects as required by the Director of Manufacturing

Required Skills and Abilities:
? BS in ChE or other engineering/technology field.
? Demonstrated results in leadership role at a chemical manufacturing facility
? Demonstrated ability to lead quality improvement efforts
? Demonstrated ability to develop positive relationships with government and regulatory authorities
? Knowledge of local regulations and work practices
? Proven manufacturing knowledge in a chemical environment with hazardous products
? Demonstrated positive results with customer interactions and problem-solving
? Negotiation & leadership skills
? Solid knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma principles
? Demonstrated ability to develop people and assemble high-functioning organization, preferably in a matrix setting
