MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
q To implement new products in Nantong factory through :
Direct industrialization in case of "simple" developments or
In collaboration with the R&D teams based in France and Germany for major developments.
q To improve profitability of the factory and the business through :
Proposal of products and/or process improvements
Rationalization of raw materials
Implementation of working methods and controls on the lines
Assistance to quality to solve quality issues
Maintenance of best practices (working methods, organization, rigor)
q To lead the lab team, making sure a suitable organisation is in place (work load, working environment, working methods, tools etc...)
JOB DESCRIPTION
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
q Principal accountabilities
ð To industrialize new products based on technical dossier from R&D being responsible for quality and timing.
ð To perform gate keeping in raw materials in order to propose more economical alternatives and provide assistance to purchasing for materials resourcing
ð To be the technical expert and technical interface for all internal and external development related contacts and actions.
ð To optimise existing products still considering quality and value for money

ü Product development
ð Conduct development of new products based on existing references
§ Select raw materials and define process
§ Plan and run lab trials
§ Plan and run production trials
§ Plan and run tests of performances of finished products
§ Issue technical documents : technical dossier and product specifications
§ Establish quality control plans
§ Interface with suppliers
§ Report to Industrial Transfer Glove Manager and/or Product Managers
§ Provide necessary information for raw materials procurement and manufacturing
§ Maintain laboratory equipments (compliance with the standards)
ð Industrialize new products based on technical dossier provided by Central R&D
§ Plan and run production trials
§ Plan and run tests of performances of finished products
§ Assist Central R&D to communicate with suppliers
§ Report to Central R&D
§ Supervise pre-series runs
§ Provide necessary information for raw materials procurement and manufacturing
§ Prepare and deliver training for production staff
§ Assist to first production run
§ Develop and maintain best practices (working methods, organization, rigor)
ð Participate in CAPEX decision through equipment selection,
Technical expertise maintenance
ð Carried out a continuous gate keeping through regular contacts with suppliers, reading of specialized magazines and attendance to professional fairs, and provide other stakeholders with the information.
ð Get up dated on standards (EN, ISO and ASTM)
Product & Process optimization
ð Propose and test raw material rationalization
ð Proposed process improvements
ð Review regularly existing products in order to get better value for money.
ð Develop, implement and maintain manufacturing control process
Technical support
ð Manage regulatory duties (REACH, EN and US Glove directives ...)
ð Assist Quality management in quality problems solving.
ð Assist purchasing in selecting and referencing new suppliers.
ð Assist Central R&D to procure new materials and identify new suppliers.
