The scope of the Supply Chain Business Consultant (CAPCO) are Panalpina’s IT customer applications to provide information, ensure transparency and control within customers supply chain. The Supply Chain Business Consultant is the interface between business and IT, is working together with the Sales teams to evaluate customer requirements and to establish the right solution in collaboration with Corporate IT CC and/or Corporate IT resources. The responsibility is with the development of the system, implementation and roll-out, training as well as support. Further it is the responsibility of the Supply Chain Business Consultant (CAPCO) to support the roll-out within Greater China of IT customer applications developed in other countries (“uncontrolled IT projects”).
Key Tasks:
?Be engaged with Sales during pre-sales and sales process. This includes but not limits to reply on RFI/RFQ (IT part), gathering customers’ requirements, work out IT solution proposal including design and costing.
?Ensure that solution proposals (Customer applications) are accepted and sign off throughout the main parties (customer, Marketing and Sales, Logistics, Operations, Finance and IT)
?After business award leading and driving the development of the IT customer application set-up, implementation and handover of customer IT-solutions to operation.
?Ensure that system solution fulfill customer requirements but keep operational manual workload as low as possible.
?Writing EDI mapping for development team, set-up shipment reports and pre-alert settings, documentation for operations and customers, provide training for end users when required
?Responsible to keep track of own time & financial expenditure (e.g. travel cost) of assigned projects. Reports regularly to the project sponsor and escalates issues when necessary
?Responsible for the development and implementation of new or enhanced customer application tools or system releases at country level.
?Responsible and ensure that sales personnel are aware and trained on functionalities, costs, pre-requisites and limitations of current and potential customer application tools
?Determine and analyze market, industry trends and customer expectations for customer applications.
?Identify gaps and/or shortcomings of Panalpina customer applications based on own observations, knowledge, customer’s requirements and competitor’s systems. Write BRFs to address those requirements and submit to Corporate IT/IT CC SIN for review, approval and possible development
?Responsible within a team for the setup and management of the Greater China CAPCO structure, its processes and guidelines
?Provides 2nd or 3rd level support of active customer application projects.
?Responsible for the ongoing audit and improvement of all Greater China controlled IT customer projects.
?Provide user training or refershment training to both Panalpina operations or customer interfaces within the country for newly rolled out Customer Application projects
?Responsible for the propper implemenation of customer applications developed in other counties including review of system set-up, user manual and trainings within Greater China.
Requirement:
?Degree in IT, business administration, logistics or a similar discipline
?Minimum 5 years working experience, ideally in an international environment, 2 years thereof in the forwarding/supply chain management industry (air and ocean freight)
?Professional experience in project management
