POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • The person is responsible to develop, deploy and manage the regional distribution center and external warehouse strategy included driving standards (SOP's), best practices and corporate programs and reports (KPI's). This is close coordination with the Global Distribution Center Team. This includes the strategy on in-house vs. outsourced solutions and system solutions to support the warehouse operations (WMS). The candidate will ensure that the Operation Advantage Program (LEAN SIX Sigma included tools like 5S+1, Standard work, Visual
    Warehousing, VSM) will be deployed and used to manage all the in-house and outsourced DC/warehouse operations. Part of the job will be to rationalize the footprint and optimize the distribution center network globally/regionally. This is to support the different BU's and the BU specific requirements to ensure a smooth and efficient material handling and to provide a first class service to the customers.
  • Candidate will provide expertise and leadership in instituting and managing Distribution Center- and warehouse team, operations, standard operating processes, tools, KPI's, IT / systems and productivity programs. Project management skills and exceptional organization skills highly desired.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and deploy a Regional Distribution Center strategy included driving leverage of the operational activities and spends as well as optimizing the footprint / DC network.
  • Develop and manage a strategy on outsourced versus in-house DC solutions to ensure the lowest possible costs, highest flexibility and a world class services in line with the Global strategy.
  • Provide leadership on all Distribution Center activities included system and warehouse management solutions.
  • Responsible for the selection (RFQ) and management of the 3PL solutions.
  • Responsible in working cross functional for the in-house Distribution Center operations incl. the set up of new activities.
  • Responsible for the full deployment of TEOA incl. LEAN-SIX Sigma and the tools like 5S+1, Standard work, Visual warehousing, VSM standards, tools, KPI's and Star Rating.
  • Manage the outsourced and internal Distribution Center Operations.
  • Manage 3PL relationships with external providers.
  • Responsible for the successful on-time implementation of new finished good hubbing and distribution operations that are sustainable, flexible, robust and meet the customer's and company requirements.
  • Implement operational metrics and measurements and ensure operations and costs are managed to metrics and goals.
  • Responsible for establishing Distribution Center - Warehouse Master Service Agreements with 3PL providers.
  • Responsible for establishing Scope of Work with 3PL providers based on Site/s and/or Customer Requirements.
  • Support successful operation of manufacturing site's - and customer's supply chains, through 100% fill rates.
  • Work with the BU's, sites and third party Logistics provider (3PL), TE logistics staff in establishing, implementing and management of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Distribution Center and warehouse operations (inventory accuracy, cycle counts, cost targets, fill rates, cycle counts.
  • Ensure effectively management of the DC's by the 3PL's on staffing, capacity consumption, communication, customs, invoicing and value add activities.
  • Support and implement network supply chain solutions on both Distribution Center and transport network.
  • Manage risk assessments with the providers, included insurance.
  • Review all logistics fulfillment solutions metrics on monthly basis.
  • Manage the process of E&O stock levels at the DC's to the absolute minimum and report escalations in time to senior management, included scrap process.
  • Manage EHS (environment, health and safety) performance on all warehouse locations.
  • Coordinate with IT in ensuring site properly implements order acceptance and execution process for fulfillment.
  • Manage WMS implementation - deployment as well as continuous improvements.
  • Identify and manage productivity improvement opportunities.
  • Point of escalation on systemic operational issues.
  • Execute complaint and claim process both between Sites and 3PL's. In order to identify discrepancies in the material and resolve the issues and implement structural improvements.
  • Support expansion of VMI - Consignment programs.
  • Conduct analysis of logistics data to evaluate and benchmark all aspects of costs and service levels. Identify information requirements, compile information and analyze data to identify critical issues or trends.
  • Demonstrates skills in performance management, teaching/leading, counseling and mentoring.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 8-10 years of distribution, warehousing or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of business experience including coordinating multiple activities and objectives.
  • Professional Affiliations Preferred e.g. CLM / Supply Chain
  • Strong knowledge of logistics industry and operations (warehousing, inventory management and transportation).
  • Strong knowledge of customs (import/export) procedures and requirements.
  • Works with external logistics suppliers in implementing processes, projects and day to day management.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, including financial analysis.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to perform financial and operational analysis
  • Project management skills.
  • Black Belt - Six Sigma - Lean certification or experience
  • Proficient English and Mandarin Chinese. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.
  • Strong communication skills and experiences of interfacing with customer (s), BU's / Sites / Global and European Logistics staff, 3PL's, carriers and suppliers, finance and regulatory functions, etc.
  • Proficiency using PC, logistics, forecasting, project management tools and general computer systems. Office Skills: word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation package / analytical skills and tools.
