Introduction:
- This engineer position is in Shanghai Siemens Medical Equipment Ltd. we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer at the earliest opportunity.
What are my responsibilities?
1. The senior engineer in the Machine Design Engineering group will develop requirements for manufacturing equipment, justify capital equipment expenditures, and deliver validated equipment to production floor to meet existing & forecasted operational needs.
2. The senior engineer will maintain lead responsibility for major capital projects from inception through introduction to production and beyond. Typical projects examples include high volume liquid filling , sealing, labeling and packaging equipment; liquid mixing pumping and storage equipment; and discreet sensor assembly and test machines.
3. This lead engineer will also identify and implement process improvements and cost reductions to achieve continuous improvement goals.
4. The engineer will conduct detailed capacity analyses and define needs related to acquiring new equipment and processes in support of expanding site requirements.
5. This individual will generate process documentation, including detailed work instructions & validation protocols.
6. Job scope expands beyond the mechanical equipment focus and will encompass the manufacturing process as well as process control plans.
7. This individual will have project leadership responsibilities and will be expected to mentor junior staff members within the engineering department.
8. The candidate will also participate in development of departmental methods intended to ensure business objectives will be met.
What do I need to qualify for this job?
? Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.
? Must have demonstrated the ability to successfully manage complex technical projects & lead cross functional teams.
? Must be familiar with mechanical design and the function of complex manufacturing equipment, experience with machine control programming and sensors is desirable.
? Experience with high volume, fully automated liquid filling and packaging processes is highly desirable
? This position requires a Mechanical engineer with design experience as well as hands-on experience diagnosing and fixing mechanical and controls problems with automated production equipment.
? Ability to combine hands-on experience with engineering theory is critical.
? Must be able to read & interpret mechanical design drawings as well as electrical schematics.
? Must have demonstrated ability to compose technical documentation including detailed work instructions and validation protocols.
? Experience working in a medical diagnostic or similar regulated environment is desirable.
? The successful candidate will have demonstrated effective and fluent English written and oral communication skills.
? The candidate must have demonstrated ability to make formal presentations to site management.
? Machine and tool design (CAD) experience is highly desirable.
? Demonstrates and applies a broad knowledge of field of specialization through successful completion of moderately complex assignments.
? Successfully applies complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates knowledge of organization's business practices and issues.
? Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be
