职位描述
Job Title: Business Development Director
Business Development Director is one of the core members of management team at VSRI, providing input in strategic directions, guarding corporate intellectual assets and values, expanding business reach, and ensuring achievement of organizational goals and objectives. This position reports to the head of Clinical Development Department.
The incumbent at this position will be expected to achieve deliverables, including institutional outreach objectives, quarterly RFP targets, and annual revenue targets by executing clinical development plans from initiation to close. He or she is expected to be an effective communicator; quick “out-of-box” thinker; effective “go getter”, broad knowledge-based individual and have the ability to advocate both the client’s needs to the company and the company’s capabilities to the client.
The incumbent should be judged with the highest professional standard and demonstrate the track record of integrity, value standard, responsibility, and leadership.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
? Create and expand revenue relationships with new and existing clients through a strategic, aligned, consultative approach;
? Develop, support, or reinforce relationship with new and existing collaborators (e.g. government, health industry, research partners, etc) through a strategic, aligned, and vision- driven approach;
? Work closely with the staff in the Clinical Operation department, in order to gain alignment with the current operational processes and plat forms
? Gain RFPs (Request for Proposals) from industry (multinational and domestic pharmaceuticals and medical device industry, government (Chinese and US/Europe), other collaborators;
? Prepare proposals responding to specific RFP in a timely and most professional manner;
? Present institutional research and service capabilities to prospective clients in a fashion that matches the needs of the client
? Based upon company’s vision, expertise, and offering, develop communication plan (website, newsletter, brochure, exhibition, etc) and recommend strategic development plan;
? Represent the company in client vendor functions and events; company attended or sponsored trade shows, and at industry association functions and meetings
? Engage market as a “Strategic Expert” in company core business in outcomes research, health information technology, and medical education.
Qualifications and Skills:
? Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical clinical research, outcomes research, pharmacoeconomics, medical affairs, communication and publication
? Demonstrated track record of successful marketing and business development experience
? Excellent skills in developing and conducting presentations in English
? Appropriate skills in managing client database, publish newsletter, develop advertisement, and meeting/exhibition organization.
? Proficient skills in Microsoft Office products.
? PhD/MD is preferred but not necessary
? Demonstrated strong desire and confidence to expand knowledge base
? Willing to travel and work in flexible hours including evenings (for communication with US based management and clients)
