POSITION: Application Engineer
LOCATION: Tianjin

Description of the tasks
?Maintain customer relationships
?Identify needs and select potential projects based on financial and technical aspects.
?Advise the customers in the preparation of specifications.
?Analyze the customer's needs, visit customers to clarify requirements.
?Check inquiries regarding contract conditions, delivery time and technical feasibility.
?Check specifications of the customer. Compose a solution with available modular series parts and design customer specific components.
?Prepare the first system solutions design, technical calculations and suggest the solution to the department manager.
?Evaluate feasibility on the technical, economic and delivery time aspects. If any differences between specification and offer, clarify differences with customers.
?Determine data for the offer calculation according to economic and technical conditions coordinate with department manager and send offer to the customer.
?Compare incoming order with the offers, document and resolve any discrepancies and, if necessary, correct calculation
?Plan and carry out incoming orders. Re-check design and calculation and transfer data to design department for detailed prcessing.
?Monitor project process and clarify corrective actions with customers, contractors, suppliers and internal departments
?Maintain product specific relations with the customers and discuss solutions
?Discuss and confirm commercial and technical solutions with partners and suppliers: contractual partners and suppliers. Settle agreements regarding the scope of supply.
?Workout of potential product developments and new products

Knowledge and skills
?Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering and/or design
?Training in Chinese contract law and contract management
?5 Years in similar field with an extend knowledge of products and market (customers and competitors).
?Familiar with the development of special customer / application solutions and technical as well as commercial discussions are required.
?Find solutions from the modular design for the customer's application as well a combination and further development of known solutions.
?Create new technical solutions, plan and monitoring the process of extensive customer projects require extended rights/permission to choose project staff and create and lead a project team with other departments if necessary.
?English level CET6. For technical and commercial discussions with customers, suppliers and internal Departments (China and Germany) good communication skills are required.
