Roles and Responsibilites:
1. Lead and manage Fords telematics service and provisioning providers in the region.
2. Understand business & non-functional requirements from key stake-holders and translate into functional, engineering, & product requirements for the customer.
3. Lead the development & system procurement of in-vehicle wireless embedded technology
4. Support the development of business cases and track progress leading to program approval for Connected Service Feature offerings.
5. Lead product development of embedded technology offerings working closely with the product managers to provide value-add services for various regions.
Requirements:
1. Education Qualification: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
2. 4 years + experience
3. Professional Exposure (Technical Skills): Automotive / Electrical / System engineering, or software development
4. Preferred previous experiences: Strong exposure to in-vehicle wireless embedded telematics technology.
5. Functional Skills:
a. 3 or more years in wireless embedded technology.
b. Theoretical and working knowledge of 2G/3G/4G/LTE/GSM/CDMA cellular networks, embedded modem design, SIM/NADs and testing procedures related to all of the above.
c. Knowledge of data exchange protocols FTP/HTTP/UDP/SMS
d. Knowledge of GSM signaling procedures
e. Working knowledge of data over voice, modulation and demodulation of signals, encoding, decoding
6. Behavioral Skills:
a. Strong communication and team player skills and working with global teams abroad.
b. Strong analytical and problem solving skills for overall system, application design.
c. Self-learner in embedded technology related application development best practices and trends.
d. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with support personnel, application development personnel, vendors and management.
e. Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and ability to work under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads.
f. Possess sustainability against changing demand from internal & external business requirements.
g. Be accustomed to operating agile and quickly to meet customer product demand.
7. Special Knowledge/Skills Required: Be familiar with the following technologies & tools:
a. Wireless Networks specific in China, Asia, & Australia (GSM, CDMA, LTE) and Carrier Relations (China Mobile, China Unicom, China Telecom)
b. Knowledge of data exchange protocols FTP/HTTP/UDP/SMS
c. Familiarity with wireless embedded modem architecture design, component-level system integration, and vehicle CAN networks.
d. Created & delivered P-Diagrams, Boundary Diagrams, & FMEAs
8. Any Others: Highly fluent in English and Mandarin; able to communicate messages very effectively to internal and external organizations. Candidates should be flexible with work hours due to time differences between markets.
