Technical Sourcing Engineer – 机构件/注塑件

Report to ：Regional Sourcing manager
In link with the Global Group Commodity Manager of Mechanics commodity and under the supervision of the regional sourcing Manager, help achieving cost Savings, identifying new suppliers, locally managing suppliers in China and Asia :
- Provide technical support on Mechanical projects (Plastics, Machining, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Tubes…)
- Help sourcing new suppliers in the commodity. Contribute to supplier selection process.
- Negotiate supplier agreements and contracts with support and direction from Global Group Commodity Manager and regional sourcing manager
- Typically responsible for managing commodity spend/investment in the range of $3 to $10 Million through locally based suppliers.
Principal Activities / Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Support and take direction from Regional sourcing manager & Global Group Commodity Manager within the portfolio (Plastics, Machining, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Tubes…).
2. Provide technical support and local insight with Chinese suppliers :
- support new product projects
- actively collaborate with France / US / UK technology centers and Sourcing teams
- investigate and help fixing operational problems affecting production
- maintain production lines (ECO implementation and control as required by the technological center)
- support and manage local supplier to operational performance on targets
3. Manage sourcing assigned commodities to assure maximum value to the company via:
- Working with Global Group Commodity Managers to support the Mechanics commodity targets
- Driving for lowest total cost via supply chain mission, objectives and values established by the company.
- Keeping informed on all new developments relative to portfolio materials and supplies.
- Help bringing local Chinese / Asian market knowledge to guide Sourcing work to the best suppliers.
- Develop suppliers who provide highly reliable /quality products, services and new ideas.
- Providing alternate sources of supply and substitute materials for key products.
4. Work closely with order process/warehouse/logistics to drive efficient flows of sourced commodities and act as an escalation level to Materials Procurement team.
5. Support company policies for enforcing compliance and ethics internally in Company and with suppliers.
6. Risk Management - Prepare local commodity Disaster Recovery plans should a commodity or service important to a product or service be interrupted or not available.
7. Work closely with Supplier Performance Management to insure service/quality levels of performance for portfolio suppliers.
8. Participate as required in new product to market (PTM) tasks and activities to assure the best possible sourcing and successful implementation.
9. Participate in the development of group budgets, cost savings targets and insure adherence.
10. Operate in compliance with all environmental health and safety regulations and policies, Comply with all appropriate ISO procedures. Maintain necessary records.
11. Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
Position/Job Requirements / Skills:
? 5 years experience in an industrial environment as manufacturing engineer, production manager or sourcing engineer – preferably with manufacturer suppliers to export markets
? Technical background expertise in mechanics (Plastics, Machining, Sheet metal…) required and wished in hydraulics / pneumatics (Pumps, Valves, tubes…)
? Professional certifications in Sourcing or lean manufacturing preferred
? Project management facilitation skills
? Effective time management skills, strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to multi-task and work within a global growing organization.
? Negotiation and contract / supplier agreement: first experience.
? Must have strong oral and written English communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, in-depth contractual knowledge and innovative problem solving skills.
Education/Training Required:
? BS/BA or equivalent education in engineering (Mechanics)
Work Experience Required:
? 5 years experience in a global industrial environment
Work Conditions or Specific constraints (Travel…):
? Based in Fengxian (SHAI)
? International Travel (up to 10%) for training and project coordination
