Report to :Product Line Director, Steering, AP
Department/Company :General Management Office-GMO
1.OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
Responsible for overall steering HPS business activities including manufacturing operations development to achieve profitable growth, working closely with TRW AP Steering central support functions such as Product Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing and Profitability Management and ensure all best practices are implemented timely. Ensuring all site controls are in place in terms of Health & Safety, Environment & Quality within the steering operations. Provide Leadership & Set standards to the steering business team based on global benchmarking after visiting major steering plants in AP and Global basis.
2.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direction and leadership to the steering production team and supports the plant manager in the day to day steering business at the site.
- Improve OEE, the efficiency of the plant and maximize the profitability, generate good cash flow.
- Provides leadership and set standards for performance in the area of steering production, periodically review reports on department performance and key business indicators.
- Assist AP Steering business team in developing steering business opportunities and operational strategies to maximize growth and profitability. Prepare and present operating and capital expenditure budgets to AP Steering business leadership for approval.
- Continually seek improved methods with a view to reduce costs, improve service level and reduce operational risk.
- Ensure compliance to all TRW's Legal & Ethical Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Participates in weekly CQA meetings, weekly reviews with program management / purchasing on project progress.
- Participate in out of hours meetings to suit EU and NA time zones.
Optimize direct, in-direct and salary headcount based on benchmarking with other AP sites.

4. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Educational: Recognized University Degree in Manufacturing or Engineering, Business Administration
- Experience: 8-10 years of operational experience in automotive industry.
Previous management experience is an added advantage.
Experience of customer driven operations (Quality standards, etc.).
Operations and Engineering experience a high volume electronics manufacturer.
