Job Description and Qualifications Position Summary:
? As GEO Asia Training Mgr, this position is responsible for overseeing the training curricula and materials for the 400+ positions working in GEO Shanghai, Xi'an, Taiwan, Korea and SEA engineering team; leading deployment of LSO for GEO Asia; implementing GEO Learning Process as well as tracking and assessing the training outcome to justify the engineer competencies within GEO Asia. This position holder is required to coordinate among various function groups within GEO and Company University/ Global HR Learning, Development, Diversity and Inclusion Center to develop a realistic, effective and measurable training program for the new hired employee and existing employees. This position holder is the primary focal point for feedback to the Global Learning Team on Asian learning needs and will analyze course evaluations and other regional feedback to provide input on course catalog additions and course improvements through close communication with TSL(Training Support Lead)s in each country in Asia.
Dimensions:
? Manage 10-15 EDP's and 20-30 new hired employee training program every year
? Tracking and assessing the 400+ GEO employee development, training progress and skill assessment.
Nature and Scope:
? This position's responsibilities are established as the focal point of GEO Asia in managing the GEO Asia new hired employee training program and existing employees development and training progress to ensure the training result is effective, and the engineering competencies are enhanced to meet the growing needs of the organization and the businesses. The position will require a working knowledge of the GEO Asia organization structure, workload, engineering capabilities, business goals/ strategies and long term vision. The position will also, require interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills, good planning and follow up skills.
Principal Job Accountabilities:
? A key responsibility of the GEO Asia Training Manager is to lead, develop, and deploy the most effective training and learning requirements in alignment with the goals of GEO and to support additional Businesses that utilize the BUILD College catalog so that GEO employees have the skills and knowledge to consistently deliver Operational Excellence (Safety, Productivity, and Reliability).
The GEO Asia Training Manager will utilize LSO Compliance reports to track and communicate on learning progress to the GEO Asia Leadership Team. He/She will also use LSO reporting tools to assist individual managers to understand their organization's learning needs. Principal accountabilities include:
? Work with GEO Asia Leadership Team and GEO managers to create a successful learning environment for GEO Asia employees.
? Identify a pool of qualified leaders for instructor -led courses.
? Plan and organize the scheduling of GEO owned courses including location and delivery language.
? Conduct needs analysis studies and confer with managers and supervisors to determine training needs.
? Formulate programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, company production processes, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.
? Organize and develop training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
? Maintain records and prepare statistical reports to evaluate performance of instructors and monitor progress of trainees.
? Screen, test, counsel, and recommend employees for participation in internal or external educational and training programs.
? Lead the EDP hiring forecast review with each GEO function group & GO to input to the HR recruiting manager.
? Develop the EDP assignments rotation plan with each GEO function group & GO and track the outcome of the training progress.
? Develop the new hire on board checklist and ensure the new hire on board training is completed to the required schedule.
? Ensure the GEO HRP actions are included in the training program as well as knowledge retention and transfer (KRT) strategy
? Regularly share the training progress, highlight the concerns and issues to GEO management team.
? Work as a BUILD College Leadership Team Member to support and implement projects in Asia, and play an active role as a member of Asia Knowledge Management Power User Community of Practice (KM PU CoP) and Asia Learning Leadership Team (LLT) -
? To find, capture, store, and share knowledge from Experts in Company, follow and keep global BUILD college direction
? Track informal learning eg CoP, OJT, etc as a way of knowledge transfer
? Manage the Training Media (Video Library)
? ERP/SAP alignment to align the job description with the appropriate training in LSO
? Certify internal trainers
? Increase speed of learning
? Spread the use of KM tools within the organization in conjunction with the KRT strategy
? Provide detailed training and education on KM Tools
? Be a voice in identifying KM tool gaps, improvement, design, and deployment
? Share knowledge in best practices, techniques, how-to's
? Contribute to KM self-service repositories
? Participate and share knowledge through KM Tool Power Users CoP's or user groups
Qualifications:
? Existing Asia employee with at least 8 years working experiences is preferred.
? A minimum of a BS degree in science, mathematics, statistics, or related technical program or a degree in Human Resources related field.
? Able to read, write and speak in business level English and interact with people from US, Europe and Asia.
? Good follow up and interaction skills and communication skills are expected.
? Self motivated initiative in abundance
? Supervisory and leadership skills
? Familiar with people development/ training development program knowledge.
