POSITION: Sales Director Asia Pacific
REPORTING TO: GM Asia Pacific with functional guidance from Global Sales leader for the company
LOCATION: Shanghai, China
OPPORTUNITY:
The Sales Director will drive sales growth in Asia Pacific. The individual in this role will identify opportunities for Company’ rich products and application segments to accelerate the growth and develop sales organization and effective channels to market to support the growth. This individual will also actively participate in Asia Pacific’s strategy development and planning to drive Company’s long term expansion and development in this region. This role offers the successful candidate an exciting opportunity to lead the Asia Pacific organization to increased sales and profitability.
The position is responsible for delivering sustainable business growth through leading and managing the organization and business with high ethical and safety standards. Responsibilities include but not limited to all aspects of strategy and execution of sales plan and supporting systems and programs within financial and human resources. These include areas such as building relationships with key customers, driving financial results, developing operational processes in collaboration with Asia GM and related functions, and leading and coaching Asia Pacific sales organization to be developed to a high performing team to deliver the sustainable profitable growth for the company.

Key Responsibilities and Job Scope
? Provide leadership and direction to the sales organization to align objectives and motivate the team for successful execution of strategies and plans.
? Lead Sales Teams to develop and execute a growth strategy that will actively explore growth opportunities and drive the commercialization of the opportunities. This includes developing sales models suitable for local market needs, building knowledge of markets, industry trends, competitors and leading customer strategies that will enable the establishment of product portfolios with key customers and markets.
? This role will focus on developing and executing sales development plans outside of China – Korea, ASEAN and ANZ.
? This role will have some direct key account responsibility – primarily outside of China – distribution partners, Large Key Accounts, etc.
? Develop and optimize sales processes and practices independently and/or in collaboration with marketing and related functions to support sales growth needs.
? Work closely with global business directors and marketing team in AOP process to establish and meet annual business objectives, sales plans and the means to achieve and drive the sales in alignment with global business strategic directions.
? Lead teams to achieve sales growth, cost control and other key matrixes across products and segments.
? Evaluate and develop sales organization and talent plan to meet growth needs.
? The position will have 4-5 direct reports in Asia Pacific with ~USD$150 million annual revenue across 2 business units. Market segments include but not limited to Agriculture, Nutrition, Specialties, Plastics Additives, Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers, Industrial Chemicals & additives, Personal Care, Food and Pharmaceuticals.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/TRAITS/COMPETENCIES .
? Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Sciences or related topics. MBA is preferred.
? 15 - 20 years in the Specialty Chemical, Chemical industry or related industry with 8 years or more experience in Asia sales management roles, especially sales development in Korea, SE Asia and ANZ.
? This individual should understand an East and West way of conducting business. In particular, this individual should have a broad perspective in order to implement the ideas and strategies developed with U.S. management. At the same time this individual should be able to coach and guide the teams to be successful and achieve its goals.
? Demonstrated leadership capabilities and high integrity that has successfully delivered and engaged the organization in accordance with targets and expectations.
? Excellent market-driven business development, strategy execution capabilities.
? Strong leadership and management skills to be able to provide direction, set priorities and objectives to drive the operational business.
? Ability to develop, coach and guide the team to create a motivated and assertive organization.
? Ability to build network and market intelligence in the industry.
? Ability to develop, negotiate and implement business plans and actions based on agreed plan targets.

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Sciences or related topics. MBA is preferred.
