Compensation Analyst

BASIC FUNCTION
Under the direction of the ASSOC DIR-COMP, BNFTS/KK, ASPAC CORP SERV, this position acts a member of Regional Corporate Human Resource to support the Company Business in the Asia area.
Focus on providing analysis to ongoing Compensation programs to develop and oversee implementation, coordination and maintenance of plans, policies and programs in accordance with competitive markets and/or as regulated by labor contractual agreements, in compliance with national and global labor laws and regulations.
? Market pricing in the assigned area: 60%
? Assistance in Ad hoc Compensation Projects (i.e. Job Family Review, Comp Integration): 20%
? Assistance in Annual Merit Review and Financial Planning: 10%
? The tracking and review of ACTs that go to U.S. for approval: 10%
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides a regional resource on compensation trends and practices by proactively analyzing management, recruiting and/or market practices in the region.
2. Recommends and participates in the development of policies and programs for compensating employees to assure consistency, equity and validity; giving consideration to individual country practices, laws and regulations.
3. Performs local market pricing activities for Compensation COE review.
? Conducts and analyzes salary surveys and survey information to support competitive compensation classifications and individual pay.
? Assists in selecting market surveys to purchase and/or participate in for the region.
? Coordinates the market survey participation process for the region.
4. Daily provides compensation policy and ACT guidance to HR and hiring managers in the region, including as required the necessary documentation to affect changes. Responsible for local ACT accuracy and provides first-level review of ACTs against the HR ACT checklist. For ACTs that require US signatures, this step should be completed prior to the ACT being routed in the US in order to expedite ACT approval.
5. Assists with annual compensation merit increase process. This includes responsibility for coordinating the completion of administrative non-exempt and exempt compensation increases in the region for ADA levels below the CEO.
6. Maintains liason with compensation organizations, other companies, professional groups, etc., to keep abreast of new compensation developments and exchange information.
7. Assists in reviewing compensation activities to insure compliance with country, state, and local wage, salary and hour laws and regulations, and Company Co. approval policy and procedures.
8. Assists with implementation of communication channels to keep supervision and associates informed on Compensation administration policy, procedures and programs.
9. Conducts or participates in training sessions on topics related to compensation.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Supervisory Relationships:
1. Reports to ASSOC DIR-COMP, BNFTS/KK, ASPAC CORP SERV.
Organization Relationships:
1. Frequent contacts with country Human Resources in Asia Pacific, Daily contact with all levels of regional management and Human Resource professionals to provide compensation policy and program interpretation and guidance.
2. Frequent contact with Directors and Managers in the region to administer compensation programs, policies and practices.
External Relationships:
1. Attend professional associations, seminars, etc., to maintain a continuing & awareness of new market status and trend on compensation.
2. Moderate contact with other companies, consulting firms and a variety of industrial associations to exchange information and keep abreast of new ccompensation developments.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field with a minimum of three to four years of experience and some previous experience in Compensation preferred. (Typically 3 or 4 years experience is a minimum. However, 2 years of experience may be considered based on track record results and strong performance record.)
