Strategic & Trade Marketing Supervisor/Manager
Reports to: Head of SSS APAC/EM Sales & Marketing Director, based in Shanghai China
Department / Division: SSS APAC/EM Marketing
Location: Shanghai,
Key Responsibilities ?
? Annual Strategic Business Planning (SBP) cycle:
? Responsible for the overall framing and analysis of business performance, factoring in the latest internal and external factors/trends, to determine if current business strategies & strategic initiatives are appropriate to achieve 2015 Vision (what is working / not working?)
? Identify opportunities to grow our business across existing and new categories via horizontal and/or vertical growth.
? Impact of macro trends on medium & long-term planning:
? Keep abreast of all socio-economic and regulatory trends and project their potential impact (risks/opportunities) to the KO system – how to capture emerging opportunities while minimizing risks.
? Leverage trends/learning from other countries/regions to predict potential direction that the local market may evolve.
? Strategic thinking/processes/models to identify opportunities:
? Design systematic and structured processes/model to analyze/identify opportunities (ie. Forecasting models, benchmarking analysis vs. key competitors and/or best-in-class KO markets around the world, etc.)
? Draw on past/existing data (however limited), emerging trends, and personal experience to develop hypothesis about the evolution of SSS industry, potential strategic direction for KO and key competitors, scenario analysis/planning, etc.
Qualification ?
? Bachelor degree or above, MBA is preferred.
? Minimum 5-7 years working experience in SSS (SMS, SGS, SAT, CSS) or business consulting as the strategic and trade marketing function in an international FMCG company, including specific experience in evaluating the needs of the field and translating that into specific marketing programs.
? Solid Experience in event/activity management and new product launch would be a plus
? Strong quantitative/analytical skills & business common sense
? Manage multiple projects simultaneously
? Mature, optimistic, accountable, willing to work under pressure
? Strong teamwork and project lead skills, ability to provide direction, reinforcement and coaching
? Ability to work effectively inside and outside the lines of formal authority to accomplish objectives
? Ability to use cross-functional resources, where appropriate for optimal results
? Strong presentation and informal and formal oral/written communication skill; Fluency in English
Experience
? Minimum 5-7 years working experience in SSS (SMS, SGS, SAT, CSS) or business consulting as the strategic and trade marketing function in an international FMCG company
? Key deliverables of the role ?
? Participant in Company SSS APAC/EM annual Strategic Planning cycle by developing framework to identify/propose strategic initiatives to support the achievement of long-term Vision and process to track its related progress.
? Monitor socio-economic and regulatory development/trends to identify potential opportunities/risks and factor into medium and long-term strategic planning.
? Develop and enhance systematic thinking/processes/models to forecast SSS industry evolution and its related profit pools.
? Enhance system capability to capture competitive intelligence and leverage learning’s to identify implications to Company SSS APAC/EM business and decision making/planning.
? Work closely with other functional departments to ensure strategic initiatives are fully aligned and integrated.
? Create compelling presentations for senior management to communicate with internal and external constituents.
? Coordinate/support on the SSS APAC/EM COG projects.
Competitive Intelligence:
? Enhance existing competitive intelligence on key and emerging key players
? SWOT analysis, production infrastructure, route-to-market, sales/business model, profitability, etc.
? Implement comprehensive, systematic and structured competitive data gathering process – including new channels/mechanisms for competitive intelligence gathering.
Cross-Function Integration:
? Serve as a “catalyst” and “integrator” between functional departments (PM, Sales, Finance etc.) to ensure long-term strategic plans are fully aligned and integrated – preventing any silo thinking/initiatives taken by a standalone department.
? Development and maintenance of professional and productive working relationship with internal cross-functional groups, Bottlers and external 3rd party suppliers.
? Enhancing and leveraging the APAC/EM network of information and experience, injecting innovation and improving the effectiveness of our strategies, plans and implementation across the Division
Compelling Communications:
? Develop succinct presentations to communicate with internal (Group, APAC/EM head office, regional office) and external constituents (professional customers, media etc.)
? Leading development of the region Trade Marketing Strategy to achieve defined business objectives across all product categories, SMS, SGS,SHS, SAT,CSS.
? In-store display and exhibition management and provide training to related people.
? Develop merchandising guidelines and activation standard
? Channel understanding, information collection and analysis
? To perform other related assignments when required
