Primary Objectives
The responsibility of the Project Manager/Business Analyst is the ownership of an application (or multiple applications) and all solutions relevant to that application within a specific business domain.
The main objectives of a Project Manager/Business Analyst are:
? Project Management – Assume responsibility for the project management of projects in your area of responsibility
? Business Analysis – Assume overall responsibility for business analysis tasks required within the projects in your area of responsibility
? Deployment – Coordinate and support the successful implementation of solutions within your area of responsibility
? Support – Provide second level support for applications in your area of responsibility
This specific opening is for the management of multiple projects in the Media Systems space. The main purpose of this role is the management and enhancement of systems that perform and record media bookings.
Responsibilities
Project Management
? Ensure a complete and thorough planning phase is performed for all projects, following company standard processes
? Ensure company standard processes are followed by all project team members
? Perform regular communication of status to all team members and stakeholders
? Monitor progress throughout all phases of a project
? Manage and ensure resolution of all issues, including guiding project team members through decision making processes where necessary
? Perform a formal closeout process at the end of all projects and communicate the results to interested parties
? Ensure that the end result of a project fulfils the agreed requirements and meets the business needs
Business Analysis
? Liaise with end users and stakeholders to identify, quantify and document business requirements
? Organise the review and sign-off of business requirements from end user representatives
? Review solutions proposed by the development team (either in house or third party) and ensure that they meet the business needs
? Liaise with the development team (either in house or third party) and end users to ensure that all parties fully understand the business needs and the proposed solution to these needs
? Participate in the assessment and prioritisation of development requests for software applications (both in house and third party)
? Assist in the identification of changes that will increase the quality and effectiveness of applications
? Prepare high level test plans
? Perform high level testing
? Support end users in performing detailed UAT testing
? Liaise with the development team to ensure resolution to bugs and other issues arising from testing
Deployment
? Participate in the preparation and maintenance of documentation that will form the basis of user manuals, help files, release notes, test plans and implementation plans
? Monitor the progress of implementation and provide support and guidance as necessary
? Ensure regular communication of implementation status occurs throughout the implementation phase
? Ensure any significant issues that arise from implementation are resolved as soon as possible
Support
? Provide second level support for applications within your area of responsibility
? Analyse the cause of all problems and either provide a solution or raise the issue to third level support
? Ensure the first level support team are regularly and fully informed of the progress of any issues that are escalated to second or third level support
? Maintain a comprehensive understanding of applications within your area of responsibility from the end user’s perspective
? Perform regular auditing of usage of applications within your area of responsibility and communicate the results with relevant stakeholders
? Proactively work to ensure that applications are configured and are being utilised in the best manner possible
Qualifications
? Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline
? Project Management certification will be highly regarded
Experience and Knowledge
To perform the duties of a Project Manager/Business Analyst:
Essential
? At least 3 years’ experience in a project management role
? At least 5 years’ experience in a business analysis role
? In depth knowledge of project management methodologies
Desirable
? Experience with organisational change management
? Experience in the media or advertising industries
? Experience delivering multiple projects concurrently
? Detailed knowledge of agile or iterative development methodologies
? Experience working with teams across multiple physical locations
Skills
Essential
? Strong planning, problem solving and decision making skills
? An advanced level of written and oral English
? Highly developed organisational skills
? The ability to quickly learn and understand new business environments
? The ability to achieve high quality results by paying attention to detail
? Proactive, “can do” attitude
? The ability to liaise between business and technical staff
? Excellent time and expectation management skills
? The ability to work under pressure and meet agreed deadlines
? Highly focused on customer service
? A strong desire to follow standards and procedures
