SCOPE

Execute largely autonomously research assignments under guidance of the Principal Investigator to support the execution of complex, multidisciplinary research activities, that contribute to the development of (new) product principles, that through further development in the Development Laboratory lead to new Quaker products or the solving of (new) application and process problems with existing products. This support embodies the execution, improvement and development of laboratory tests with predictive value towards field performance of our products.

Research activities are managed as projects. The project objective is either a new product concept/application, or gaining new/improved knowledge/expertise about Quaker’s core technologies. A proper execution of the research activities of these projects is the prime responsibility of the Principal Investigator.

Project work is performed in cooperation with a variety of internal and external contacts.

Key Responsibilities

1.Execute all kind of experimental activities under the guidance of the Principal Investigator within the scope of projects assigned to the Research Group and contributing in this way to achieve the technical objectives of these projects.
2.Investigate new chemical compounds and/or synthesized chemical compounds in support of research.
3.Execute and develop test procedures and assist in the development/improvement of laboratory test procedures with predictive value towards field performance of our products.
4.Determine performance characteristics of competitive products and products of other industries using physical, instrumental and wet analysis techniques in support of research.
5.Clearly and orderly record all observations and data. Report results in a clear and concise manner to enhance technical exchange. Provide legal and archival documentation for patent applications.
6.Give input on improvement of the experimental plan, on forehand during the planning process and during execution of the experiments.

Qualification and Criteria:

-Master degree or above in Chemistry related major
-Analytical thinking and have the ability to work for different projects at the same time
-Good prioritization and communication skills
-Good command of the English in oral and writing
-Problem-solvers with excellent learning agility
