Responsibilities:
1.Act as the lead counsel for the following legal practice areas: 1) technology management, patent, 2) joint venture support, 3) connecting service, 4) legal support to homologation, 5) key transactions.
2.Be the primary point of contact in China OGC and advise on all legal issues related to the relevant practice areas including analyzing, drafting, amending, negotiating and interpreting all related legal instruments.
3.Serve as the China law subject expert for the relevant practice areas across the company and provide China law advice to OGC colleagues in other markets inside and outside of the region.
4.Participate, organize and coordinate regular business review at both regional and global levels for major updates/change in relevant legal practice areas and/or key projects.
5.Communicate local legal issues/concerns to appropriate functional leaders in China or APA region.
6.Provide legal support to certain key transactions in China market and/or other regional markets as assigned by Managing Counsel of Ford China or General Counsel of Ford Asia Pacific.
7.Efficiently handle litigation and arbitration matters of significance in the relevant practice areas.
8.Work closely with Government Affairs Department in lobbying and influencing China legislative initiatives or approval efforts in favor of Ford’s business interest and development.
9.Deliver high quality legal services in cost effective and value added means.
10.Provide direction to, supervise, and evaluate the performance of, external counsel in the relevant practice area.
11.Familiar with Ford OGC process and practices in the region and those relevant in WHQ.
12.Supervise, coach and develop junior legal staff.
13.Deliver training and promote legal awareness to relevant groups of employees.
Requirements:
1.Undergraduate degree from a reputable PRC law school is a must, Master of Law preferred.
2.Minimum 5-year legal professional experience in multinational corporations or reputable law firms; experiences in both preferred.
3.Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese; capable of drafting legal documents in both languages.
4.Passage of the Judicial Exam in the PRC.
5.Has strong understanding of fundamental policies and regulations pertaining to all major laws impacting Ford business processes and practical applications in China; good understanding of the US law or practice experience in the US or other common law jurisdictions preferred.
6.Well-organized and be able to work on his/her own under pressure and within tight deadlines.
7.Quick learner with good analytical and problem solving skills, competent in helping clients to achieve their business objectives within applicable constraints.
8.Demonstrated initiative with integrity, teamwork orientation, and high intelligence level.
Other Consideration and Complexities:
1.Adaptability to changing environment and uncertainty.
2.Be geographically mobile in order to support business needs.
3.Good interpersonal skills and team work spirit and capable of working with a variety of functions on regular or project basis.
4.Familiar with general corporate culture of multinational corporations.
