Position: Lab Manager

Job Description and Requirements:

Tekelec seeks to fill an open position on the Product Verification/Quality Assurance team within the PV group. The successful candidate will have dual responsibilities in managing the software lab in Nanjing and testing assignments as part of the PV team.

The lab manager responsibilities include management of all hardware and networking infrastructure requirements in the software lab, procurement & installation of new hardware gear, lab inventory, ESD procedures, and lab maintenance. This position will also provide lab support to the Development and PV teams to ensure delivery of releases. This position would require the candidate to perform physical wiring in the lab as well as installation of new hardware devices in the lab.

The Test Engineer responsibilities include the review of Functional Specifications, writing test plans, test bed setup, execution of testing, reporting of problem reports, and final results for Tekelec's Policy Server products. Testing will include functional, system, performance, and load verification. The candidate must be able to work with internal and external cross functional teams to review and provide input into test requirements. Organizational skills and multitasking will be required along with excellent verbal and written communications. Must be flexible and demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities. The candidate is required to have testing experience in a Linux environment, advanced networking knowledge, and good troubleshooting skills. The candidate should have working knowledge of automation scripting and tools.

Candidate should have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in PV testing with working knowledge of PV methodology and project release cycles. Bachelors in CS, EE, or equivalent technical degree required. Candidate must demonstrate proficiency in testing in the following areas:
1) 3 years professional experience in a Linux, in particular Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4/5 and Windows environment.
2) 3 years experience running and maintaining network lab including solid understanding of TCP/IP network and VLANs.
3) Knowledge of networking products such as routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
4) Knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 Network environment.
5) Knowledge of Cisco CMTS and/or Juniper routers is a plus
6) Experience with MySQL, Oracle, or In-memory DB (e.g. TimesTen, SolidDB, etc.) database products is a plus.
7) Ability to write high quality scripts (PERL, Shell, Python etc.) is a plus.
8) Familiarity with one or more of the following protocol/interface areas is a plus:
a. Gx, Gxx, Gy, Rx, SH, etc.
b. SNMP
c. Diameter
d. RADIUS
9) At least 1 year experience of HVAC system application, and familiar with equipment controls of UPS and precise air-conditioners;
10) Knowledge and skills of conducting electric engineering maintenance and power connections;
11) Skills of integrating multiple signaling devices into electronic monitoring system;

Following conditions are nice to have for this candidate:
- Holding CCNA active certificates
- Holding HP AIS certificate
- Holding a degree of electric engineering or mechanical engineering
- Chinese electrician certificate;
- Good written and oral English;
- Strong communication and coordination skills;
- Experience of developing AD/DA conversion systems
- Experience of web development and database management
