Tekelec is looking for a Senior Linux Software Development Engineer for Nanjing China R&D center. This individual will Join a high caliber technical team to develop world class Policy Control platforms for Cable, Wireline, and Wireless networks.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Design, development, and testing of networking and application software using C,C++, Perl and shell scripts.
- Collaborate with US-based engineering teams in software projects.
- Participate in the entire Software Development Life Cycle(SDLC) as senior software engineer:
- Requirement analysis
- Create functional specification
- Write design document
- Develop and maintain Linux based server applications
- Provide sustaining support for customer issues.

Qualifications:
- Strong programming skills in C,C++,Perl and shell script is mandatory
- Excellent design skills
- Strong trouble shooting capabilities for system level complex issues.
- In deep understanding of Linux operation system and distributed applications
- Knowledge of multi-threading, RPC, TCP/IP and inter-process communication
- At least 5 years of hands-on development in one of the following technical areas is required:
- Experience with HA(High availability) development.
- Experience with in-service upgrade development.
- Experience with real time and high-performance application development.
- Experience of developing concurrent and high throughput software.
- Experience of networking protocols or networking software.
- Experience or knowledge in following technical areas is preferred:
- Experience with in-memory or NOSQL databases.
- Knowledge of telecommunication industry.
- Experience or knowledge of architecture and framework design for commercial products or systems.
- Excellent English reading and writing skills. Good English oral communication is desired.
- Strong communication skills required.
- Excellent team skills, can-do attitude, focus on quality and drive to make a difference in a dynamic, fast paced startup organization.
- Knowledge of software development methodology, build tools and product life cycle.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent. Masters degree is a plus, but is not required.
