Atlas Copco (Nanjing) Mining & Rock Excavation Technique is expanding its business in product offering in China. Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation, URE, is a division within Atlas Copco's Mining & Rock Excavation Technique business area. It develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of tunnelling and mining equipment for various underground applications worldwide. The division focuses strongly on innovative product design and aftermarket support systems, which give added customer value.

Job description
The URE division have a wide variety of products that are produced in Nanjing and a number of products where the site is product responsible. This position is responsible for mechanical design work on our underground drill rigs, produced and developed in Atlas Copco Nanjing Product company. As a senior mechanical engineer you will have following responsibilities:

? Design structural components for underground excavation equipment.
? Design mechanisms for different part of the underground excavation equipment.
? Create and maintain bill of material for the product and sub-assemblies.
? Participate and take an active role in continuous product improvement process.
? Take full local vehicle responsibility for a complete product line of machines.
? Lead and organize all activities surrounding a product.
? Select standard hardware and components.
? Support sourcing group in selecting and qualifying suppliers.
? Calculate and analyze load and stress level in structures and components.
? Select material and specify manufacture process.
? Assist manufacture on any mechanical vehicle related issues and find solutions.
? Assist technical service and customer centers on any field problems.
? Write machine test procedures when needed.

Competence requirements
? Good command in English is required or strong ambition to learn.
? Strong background in mechanical component and mechanism design on mining or construction vehicles.
? 3D/2D design and draft ability for components.
? Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards of this type of product.
? Experience and knowledge in construction machinery preferably in mining.
? Project management experience is favourable.

Knowledge / Educational requirements
BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years of working experience.

? Must be a hands-on type of person.
? Self starter and goal orientated.
? Attention to details and strong sense of responsibility.
