Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Arrange/participate in Simo Engineering with supplier and plant/staff;

• Evaluate and initiate bids for equipment purchase;

• Run-off equipment at supplier and plant to show capability and robustness including safety;

• Provide launch support for machining and assembly control systems (hardware/software);

• Co-lead simultaneous engineering design meetings with process engineers and Tier 1 suppliers;

• Support engineering system integration of CNC controls, gantries and auxiliary equipment;

• Support implementation of distributed controls architectures for assembly including manual/automatic stations designs, pallet routing and trafficking strategies with reinsertion and regression processes

• Lead the implementation of standard RFID systems including complexity management, scheduling, and QOS

  strategies;

• Verify safety of equipment by having a strong knowledge of international electrical/safety standards (UL, ISO, IEC etc...) and familiarity with internal/external safety processes (risk assessments, PSS, integrated safety etc...);

• Lead the engineering development and prove-out of new controls technologies;

• Integrate controls systems to plant floor manufacturing execution systems;

• Develop a good all round understanding of Manufacturing Engineering , Launch and quality disciplines and tools used in the region;

Preferred previous experiences / competencies:

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering-Electrical, Electronics, Computer Sciences. Master of Science preferred
• 3-5 years of Experience

• Ability to program and troubleshoot Schneider, Bosch & Siemens PLC and CNC/Motion controls systems;

• Design and read electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic prints;

• Ability to troubleshoot communication network architectures and field bus protocols;

• Extensive Machining /Assembly manufacturing process knowledge --preferably automotive

• Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills

• 5+ years manufacturing experience, manufacturing plant experience preferred

• Project/program experience desired
