Responsibilities
· Documents and recommends improvements to current environment and practices
· Maintains high network availability build for redundancy and resilience
· Understands and accounts for peak load; manages peak load events
· Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency
· Follows defined cost efficiency guidelines; continuously investigates alternatives to bring down operational costs
· Implements and monitors network performance such as QoS; follows up on alerts generated by quality monitoring systems
· Maintains the configuration of the functional monitoring system; tests the paging capabilities from time to time
· Helps with security audits of the network and improves the security posture; follows security best practices
· Follows procedures and policies defined as best practice to comply with audit requirements
· Is the intermediate level of support for escalated end-user issues
· Configures routers, switches, load balancers and other network devices in accordance with published templates and standards
· Tests disaster recovery setups both on a global and site-by-site basis
· Creates reports on subsystem performance
· Follows configuration management and review practices; suggests improvements to the more senior engineers
· On-site equipment installation, replacement , and troubleshoot for datacenters in China and globally
· Technical support and troubleshooting for partner customers in China and globally
· Experience with maintaining a 100 person or 500+ server network
· Must understand routing and switching; OSPF, GRE
· Experience with the Cisco 65xx and nexus platforms
· Experience with billing and CDR management systems
· Fluency with Basic Networking: Ethernet, TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, NTP, SNMP
· Knowledge of VoIP: SIP/RTP, SCCP and H.323
· Understanding of voice-encoding methods and codecs (G.711, G.729, G.722, iLBC, iSAC)
· Ability to be very customer oriented and willing to engage in the process of problem resolution
· Ability to solve complex problems by successive decomposition
· Experience juggling multiple responsibilities and understanding of prioritization
· 2+ years of on-call technical operations experience a plus
· CCNA preferred; CCNP a plus
· Fluency with Cisco IOS and JunOS (a plus)
· Experience with Cisco Call Manager, UCCx, Avaya CM/IC, Nortel PBXes a plus
· Basic programming experience a plus (Perl, SQL, JAVA)

Other Duties and Responsibilities
· Is available for on-call rotation 2 weeks a month
· Attends trainings, seminars and Webinars to add to skill set
· Guides and instructs junior members of the NSG
