Job Description:

This is an engineering position in the Mobile Communications Software group at Broadcom. The candidate will be part of a customer support team to support customer project based on Broadcom mobile platform solution, and also as a core team member to develop and extend platform SW to verify Broadcom’s next generation baseband chips. Also support teams of engineers using that technology to test mobile phone handsets.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

? Customer support, bug fix and feature enhancement on customer project

? Developing platform software features and performance improvements.

? Troubleshooting and debugging related bug issues.

? Code optimization and integration.

? Some travel may be required.

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:

? Requires a BS in CE/EE with 8+ years of related experience, or MS in CE/EE with 5 years of related experience to include at 4+ years of experience in the design and development of applications on handheld or electronic consumer products.

? The candidate should be at least proficient in one of the fields: Call Process, SIM/PBK, SS/STK, Messaging, Data Connection, etc. Android RIL development/support experience will be plus,

? Strong experience in C/C++ or Java programming.

? Familiar with gcc tool chain and makefile rules.

? Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

? Experience debugging with ARM debug tools such as JTAG/ETM.

? Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

? Good teamwork spirit.

May require up to 25% travel and work with design teams located in different time zones.
