The Challenge

The Technical Service Engineer supports business development by advising on the coating process at (potential) customers as well as how to best implement the Kephricoat? coating in the production process.

The core activities of the Technical Service Engineer are to:
1.First line technical service:
- Coordinate production of standard samples, maintain standard sample stock, coordinate shipment of samples
Coordinate customer specific sampling (steer R&D and customer service)
Conduct sampling in DSM China R&D Hub where and when needed
Prepare Anti-reflective coated glass processing datasheet
Help prepare product specification (technical input)
Answer technical customer questions

2.Participate in the team that is developing new deposition technologies (roll, spray, slot die coating):
Provide input regarding customer needs / specifications (guided by the AD and NBD Managers)
Participate in trials at equipment suppliers and pilot tests at customers

3.Coordinate and be present at customer trials with commercially available products:
Dipping trials
One-sided deposition technology trials
Glass processing trials of AR coated glass

4.Trouble shooting running business including handling of technical complaints

The Ideal

The ideal candidate has the following profile:
?MSc degree in glass or resin areas, combination of both would be preferred; or BSc with extensive work experience in either glass processing or the coating business.
?>3 years of relevant experience in glass or functional coating industries.
?Proficiency in Mandarin and English.
?Diligent and eager to grow in an innovative environment.
?Proven ability to maintain effective customer relations.
?Good documentation practices. Maintain accurate records throughout the tech transfer process. Technical writing skills.
?Team player.
?Project management skills.
