Job Description

A.Job title / Job code / Reporting to:

IT helpdesk, report to IT Manager, Hertz China.




B. Job purpose

The key responsibilities and accountabilities for the incumbent are to:

Provide first line support to office electronic equipment, include but not limit to: Server, Video Conference equipment, telephone system, PC.

Install,configure and maintain computer hardware/software, printers, and other peripherals.

Document, trouble-shoot and resolve Help Desk inquiries related to software installation, computer hardware, printers, and other peripherals.

Coordinate with outside vendors to resolve software and hardware problems.

Fully Document all relevant information including the impact to the customer, problem symptoms and status information in a timely fashion, and assign appropriate priority in the service desk system.

Communicate internally within the IT department and externally with the customer through resolution.

Performs system backups as required, provide excellent customer service, via phone, email and in person, demonstrate good follow through techniques, assist with special projects.

Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Assist in the development of existing and creation of new Information Technology policies and procedures.

Work on day to day operations and key infrastructure projects.

Ensure that service levels are maintained and continually approved, and problems with day-to-day delivery of services are minimized.




C.Key-result areas (Major Accountabilities) :

Handle Helpdesk work and help company staff with personal PC.

Maintain a service management attitude, promoting best practice throughout the IT team.

Ensure Service Level Commitments are met and improvement opportunities are highlighted.

Maintain mission critical systems / IT infrastructure at all times.

Provide regular communication of progress as required.

Ensure compliance with policies and standards.

Promote existing and emerging technologies, to provide input on guidelines and roadmaps for future IT infrastructure developments.

Contribute to the smooth operation of the IT function in Europe.




D. Knowledge, skills and experience required

Educational Background:

Bachelor's Degree or above, major in computer science.




Professional Experience:

PC and server Trouble-shooting and setup in a Microsoft environment, familiar with Windows Server, PC hardware Lotus Notes system maintenance

Minimum 2 years experience in IT support role with Associates Degree in computer science

Be familiar with MNC working environment, good English communication skills both in oral and writing.



Skills:

Ability to identify problems, make decisions, create solutions and take actions.

Highly self motivated and directed with an attention to detail and strong customer service focus.

Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities to strict deadlines within a highly demanding technical environment.

Good command of English and Chinese, both spoken and written a must

Good interpersonal, problem solving, communication and presentation skills
