JOB DESCRIPTION:
This Position is responsible for new product design of Solid State Drive (SSD) and other cost reduction efforts. This candidate will work at Company Shanghai (SDSS), and will report directly to Company USA (SDUS). The major responsibility is for activities related to mechanical design and support. This will include:
? Design of new (SSD) enclosures by working with SDUS team.
? Support Contractor Manufacturer (CM) activities as a representative of SDUS team.
? Support R&D activities using local China suppliers of connectors, plastics, labels, and metal components.
? Support OEM, PLG, and bulk shipment packaging development, and documentation.
? Support Custom shipment labeling, packaging, and palletization.
? Review and follow through of DOS and POS.
? Conduct Tolerance stack up analysis for new designs.
? Perform DOE for new products.
? Responsible for creating mechanical documents, drawings, BOM’s, ECO’s for new products as needed. (Solidworks and Agile)
? Attends weekly staff meeting by conference call.
? Failure Analysis support for SSD other products built in Shanghai.
? Failure Analysis support for connectors.
? Responsible for working with label suppliers on new retail label releases.
EXPERIENCE:
? 6 ~8 years direct experiences, requires a background in mechanical engineering relating to design and manufacture of consumer products.
? Candidate must have working knowledge of AutoCad, Solidworks, and Adobe Illustrator, Pro/Engineer optional.
? Candidate must have good knowledge of manufacturing processes and assembly methods such as; sheetmetal stamping, material finishes (painting and plating), plastic molding, metal casting, ultrasonic welding, fastening, process control, and qualification. Basic understanding of thermal management for pcb components and materials used for connectors.
? English communications, both verbal and written, must be good.
? Must be able to travel to SDUS for 3 months training.
EDUCATION:
BS/ME degree or equivalent.
