Position: Technical Writer
Electric has an opportunity for a Technical Writer/Illustrator to work with our design team. The candidate will be based in Shanghai, China and work with teams based in China, United States, India and other locals. Responsibilities will include focusing on planning, implementation, editing, and managing documentation projects in a global organization for a world-wide audience.
Specific Duties:
1. For new products, Create the documentation structure by using the dedicated tools, and write the new of updated Technical documentation (with the support of design team/marketing team to improve the quality) by using the dedicated tools
2. For the existing products: maintain the updated Technical documentation (with the support of design team/marketing team to improve the quality) by using the dedicated tools.
3. Manage peer reviews to verify the documentation
4. Publish the final technical documentation in intranet/lnternet (decided by marketing)
5. Collect and review material inputs as technical documentation
Qualifications:
61 Degree in Technical Communication or related degree or related experience.
61 Prefer at least 3 years of experience.
61 Proficiency in FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Arbortext, Windchill, SolidWorks or other CAD design software, Printing processes.
61 Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
61 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
61 Able to work with cross cultural and cross functional global teams.
61 Able to provide English portfolio of relevant work, if possible.
