Within“Digital Business Solutions China Team”, you will be responsible for backend development and DevOps management (include cloud infra, coding & process CI/CD mgmt..) as part of the team. The team develops applications which are used in a shared way by both BASF and our external customers.
We deliver & support various sales & marketing solutions worldwide and are therefore THE digital face to the customers of BASF. We inspire and advise our business units with our many years of experience in commerce in both business and technical matters.

- You will be delivering both Intranet and Internet applications to improve BASF’s services towards our customers.
- You will be working in an agile and self-organized way. You not only consider development of new applications but also operations and maintenance as a valuable part of your daily work.
- You are part of a dedicated team, which has built itself a platform to efficiently develop, maintain and enhance their delivered applications. Part of your daily job will be to drive the future development and innovation of this platform with regards to user requirement according to modern coding, security and tool standards.
- As part of an agile DevOps team, you will independently drive the further development of the BASF Webshops into a central platform based on microservices.
- You will be responsible for both the design and end-to-end implementation of individual microservices and ensure their smooth operation to build a stable and sustainable API-Layer for several consuming applications.
- Taking care of the smooth and secure integration of new services into the overall BASF system landscape and existing backend systems will be in your responsibility.
- You will take care of code quality by defining coding conventions and development guidelines, ensuring high test coverage and introducing code quality tools
- Through the continuous optimization of our CI/CD pipelines and test frameworks, you will make a significant contribution to the automation of development and deployment processes within the team.

- You have a degree or a comparable education in the field of computer science and information technology.
- Minimum 5+ years
- You have already acquired professional experience in an IT environment.
- Specializing in software development or computer/software engineering, and a solid understanding and skills in object-oriented programming
- 5 years of software engineering / development experience
- At least 3 years of web front-end development experience, with practical development experience in one or more front-end development frameworks such as Vue2/Vue3/Angular/React, familiar with Typescript/ECMAScript, familiar with responsive layout, familiar with PWA. Experienced with RxJs.
- At least 1 year of CMS (Content Management System) related development experience.
- At least 3 years of back-end development experience, with practical development experience in one or more back-end development languages such as Java/Nodejs/Golang/python/C#, familiar with spring framework include but not limited to spring boot spring data spring webflux spring security, familiar with one or more databases such as MS SQL/MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL/MariaDB
- Experience in mobile development, familiar with Android or IOS native developer preferred
- Experience building, developing, and implementing microservices
- Experience working in DevOps teams
- Experience configuring and deploying on Microsoft Azure Cloud
- Strong understanding of design principles such as SOLID, DRY and OOPS
- Demonstrated architectural thinking to solve problems
- Knowhow of Sec DevOps experience and IAC with Terraform on the Microsoft Azure cloud.
- Knowhow with Azure DevOps boards, pipelines, releases, and test plans
- knowhow with oAuth SSL and other basic commonly used protocol is mandatory
- E-commerce platform dev. experience is a high plus.

Digital Hub China was founded in 2020 in Nanjing. As part of the Global Digital Hub Verbund, the hub is rapidly growing with a target of a three-digit number of employees in coming years. Focused on digitalization and innovative IT solutions to enhance BASF’s IT portfolio and expertise in China, it brings an all-around capable team of digital talents to create solutions in the context of China’s unique digital landscape to BASF. It also contributes to the smart manufacturing endeavors for the new mega project in Zhanjiang.
