Ford is growing our Autonomous Driving team in China. The primary purpose of our work is to develop autonomous vehicle solution, integrating with smart city for the unique Chinese environment. The team leads our self-driving car program in China, works closely with local partners and connect with Ford’s global network and resource.

Position Duties:
Candidates for consideration will be responsible for supporting research and development of SAE Level 4 autonomous vehicle capabilities.

Job responsibilities may encompass:

• Design data management process, including data collection, validation, processing and analysis
• Develop test database management system
• Design and implement appropriate data structure to streamline data processing
• Coordinate among team member and facilitate data collection
• Validate data integrity to ensure data quality and compliance
• Iteratively gather, clean, explore, and visualize data to solve a technical challenge
• Process and analyze test data according to test plan, visualize data analysis result and generate report
• Generate meaningful insights that can be translated into performance improvement
• Collect traffic data, understand traffic pattern and generate insight on traffic situation and driving behavior

Required Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics; Or Engineering Degree with strong experience in data
• 3-year experience in vehicle test data management, data processing, data analysis.
• Experience in creating data processing/visualization scripts and model
• Experience in developing report and communicating to management
• Ability to think creatively and provide thoughtful insights
• Fluency in Python/C++ or other analytical languages
• Proficiency with a distributed version control system (e.g. GitHub, etc.)

Desired qualifications include:

• MS or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics
• Experience in driving behavior, traffic pattern, transportation data analysis
• Knowledge in statistical techniques (e.g. regression, clustering, Bayesian techniques, supervised and unsupervised learning, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate insight from ambiguity, and turn insights into executable improvement recommendations
• Experience in L2-L4 autonomous vehicle technology development

Other:
Candidates will be expected to:

• Possess strong oral and written language skills in English
• Working in a team-based project from inception to finish across multiple disciplines
• Work closely and effectively with external partners – corporations, universities and automotive suppliers
• Publish technical reports, papers and/or pursue Intellectual Property rights
